Vegan jaguar cuffs - wrist and ankle cuffs discontinued by ASLAN Leather - review by DeliciousSurprise

These cuffs are made for restraining yourself or a partner during BDSM play. They're a bit tricky to use solo, so I would really recommend them for couples use, rather than for most single persons. They'll hold up to even the most rigorous play rather well, and have a ring where a lock can be placed for more significant restraint.

The design is simple; a thick (2") faux leather band with black stitching around the edges. In the center of this band is a second strap that's held down with rivets to the faux leather band; most of these are covered by a second piece of synthetic leather so that they don't irritate your skin, but on each cuff there is a single rivet that passes through both layers, which holds an Aslan Leather tag--this tag lists that the cuffs are made in Canada, and a link to the manufacturer's website. The D-Ring is made of nickel plated steel--so I assume that all of the metal on this set of cuffs are nickel plated steel, but I cannot definitely say.

The cuffs each have a D ring about a third of the way down where you can attach leads or ties, and six holes where you can adjust the cuffs; these will fit most wrists, but people whose wrists are smaller than 6.5" or larger than about 8.5" may find these to be uncomfortable or unusable.

These cuffs are actually far less well made than other Aslan leather products I've owned. In a lot of places there are somewhat ragged edges, and on other edges it looks like the red faux leather got rubbed/torn off. In addition, the two layers of synthetic leather are not aligned properly, which is both uncomfortable and aesthetically unattractive.

The cuffs worked well; they held sturdily no matter how much struggling was done. The faux leather is very cool, and never made me feel like they were hot or sweat inducing, and the ring for the lock was a nice bonus. However, as I mentioned earlier in this review, the layers of faux leather are not aligned so it's a bit uncomfortable when there is any kind of struggling done, because the ends of the cuffs rub really uncomfortably against skin and cause irritation. If I wore them loosely (so that the end of the cuff wasn't touching my skin) the tag on the inside rubbed, instead.



There's also no way to secure the bit of faux leather that's left after you size it onto your wrist, it just kind of flaps around. It doesn't impede play in any way, but it does look a bit goofy.



I found that they were a little too small for my ankles, but very petite women (since I don't have exceptionally large ankles) would have no problem in using them for that purpose.

The cuffs are super easy to care for; cleaning means a quick wipe down with water and a soft cloth--just make sure you dry it so you don't damage the material. However, you can't sanitize these, and if you're engaging in heavier play (where blood, sweat, or other bodily fluids are going to be exchanged) you should commit these cuffs to a single partner.
