Bound by diamonds hog tie - wrist and ankle cuffs discontinued by Cal Exotics - review by El-Jaro

For a beginner couple, this kit has the potential to work great. One thing is for sure: This isn't for serious restraint. As with a lot of things in life, you can have nice looks or sturdiness; this set looks really, really nice.

This kit would also be good for modeling and could double as jewelry or as part of a cos-play outfit as well. The rhinestones are a nice accent to the piece; with the shininess of the patent vinyl and alloy metal, you're almost there for some Steampunk or Vinyl-Glam.

The design has possibilities, but it just falls a little short for practical applications. The straps that come off the main ring are only a couple inches long. If your arms and legs are on the shorter side or you have poor flexibility, you probably won't feel too comfortable having your arms and legs meet up in your middle somewhere.

The metal feels like aluminum (light weight, not sturdy) and the straps are listed at patent leather with PVC. The package lists the clasps as "alloy", but that could mean anything. They really feel more like duct tape without the glue (and ripped the exact same way with the same amount of force).

The cuff sizing puts a positive light on the kit. They are made of the same material as the strips, but with velcro. They are very much a "one size fits most". I can get one around my lower leg (a diameter of 4" or so). The stitching isn't that great though. I tried pulling the strap off my leg instead of undoing the velcro that runs the whole length of the cuff, with a moderate amount of pull, the strap came right off the cuff. True, this isn't the intended way to remove the cuffs, but during a full session, they wouldn't last.

It didn't work well for my uses at all. I had my partner bound up in all four cuffs and ring. She said the position wasn't comfortable for what we had planned.

Once I had her bound up, I asked her "Are you secure?"

TUG. TUG. SNAP!

"Nope."

With just a couple test tugs her left wrist was free.

She did make the comment "It looks like I have the start of my Steampunk outfit now" with the cuffs. I thought the ring with the four strap looked like the potential add-on to a mesh shirt.

I'm guessing you could just wash them down with soap and water. But they didn't hold up long enough to even get dirty.

The Bound by diamonds (rhinestones) came in a typical Cal Ex paper box. Requisite hot blonde on the cover using the product.

For the $25-30 you might spend on this kit, I would suggest spending your money elsewhere.
