Noir & Comfortable

You are looking at a blindfold for $9.99, and you honestly get a really good deal. It will hold up for the most playful evenings but 'eventually' time will take its toll---but it's a long way to the toll, though, with the right care.

Use

If you are looking for a reasonable and functioning blindfold, then this should do the trick. The Noir Blindfold is a simple black blindfold available for a reasonable price with great functionality. Blocking out all light and depriving all sight senses will make for a fun evening for just about anybody. This blindfold is not at all made for the intense scenes but... you could use it for that... What's stopping you? I just found it to be non-threatening and used it primarily for sensory play, but whatever you use this for it works wonderfully as a comfortable and economical blindfold.

Design / Craftsmanship / Material / Size / Fit

To begin with the obvious, this is a $9.99 blindfold; but you definitely get the value. It is composed of faux leather, felt, and an elastic band. The elastic band allows the blindfold to fit most people, but once it wears off smaller heads might have issues keeping it in place. From my experiences the band has lasted and has not given way, but I can only guess that won't last forever. When it does give way I figure you could fold the band in half and sew it together or sew a new band on. It is a cheaper blindfold so that seems like a lot of trouble to go through, I'll probably just upgrade when it does give way.

The front of the blindfold is made of black faux leather and looks just OK to me. It's not like it has golden thread embroidery made from the finest silk, it's just simple faux leather. There is really nothing special about the look to it. I do have to mention though that this faux leather is... cheap. I haven't done this myself but it's easy to tell by the feel of the material that if you were to bend it in half it would have a crease. I just don't bend it so that eliminates that problem!

Wearing the blindfold for the first time worried me just because it didn't form to my face right away, and the crease between the eyes rubbed on my nose. That was when I just pulled it out of the mail, when it had some bedroom use it was a perfect fit for both me and my wife. On the inside of the blindfold there is black felt that seemed like a light touch to me, but it makes a big difference. The felt made for a very light and soft touch to the skin and made it comfortable, without it and it may actually rub like the first time I tried it. During actual use though Noir Blindfold has shown me that it really does have solid craftsmanship to hold up over quite a few uses.

Performance

When buying a blindfold, you expect to get something that blocks sight. I got something that blocks sight and holds up well during play. There are primarily three things I would want in a blindfold and one bonus point, and Noir Blindfold gets three of the four. It is comfortable, blocks sight, and stays in place---but doesn't get that bonus point for looking amazing. It's just a blindfold like I mentioned before---but looking just "OK" DOES NOT take away from this blindfold's performance not what-so-ever! It's just an aesthetic value that we all hold but can't hold against something. This blindfold functions just fine and I can't say anything against it at all.
    • Comfortable during use
    • Easy to put on / use

Care and Maintenance

Cleaning a blindfold to me seems kinda silly since we don't really get it dirty often, but what I did notice right away was that the felt on the inside of the blindfold gathered dust fairly quickly. Easy fix though, just had to swipe my hands on it a few times and it got the dust off without trouble. It reminded me of when you get a white cat cuddling with a pair of black slacks... It comes off easily but it's just annoying.

Storage is easy enough, but we try not to bend it because it is the type of material that would hold a crease so it just goes in our growing drawer of fun and whimsy.
    • Easy to clean
    • Easy to store
Follow-up commentary
We still like this blindfold. It has held up through all of our play, and has not started to wear in the least bit. So that was a surprise to me. I didn't realize how nice it really is for $9.99, considering how it's held up.

I love it when people say "here are the things I wanted from this (x, y, z, and bonus points for n), and there's what I got (x, y, and z)." Thanks so much for styling your review like that!
