Crave collared nipple clamps by Spartacus - review by Sammi

This set is best used for light bondage play. It features a lovely adjustable buckling collar, and the clamps and chains add a bit of elegance to your look. This will work best for those with small nipples, as the clamps are short and don’t attach well, if at all, to larger nipples.

The design of this piece is lovely. It is well made, with leather for the collar and solid chains, rivets, and clamps.

I was surprised by the color. Although the description does say the collar is made of violet leather, the pictures show it to be almost black. I was expecting a very dark, almost black color: however, it is actually a lovely shade of purple.

The collar is composed of two straps of leather. The top strap is 1” wide, while the bottom strap is 1 1/2” wide. The two straps are joined in four places by black rivets. The center two hold the black d-ring in place on the front of the collar.

This is a buckling collar, and the buckle is on the top strap. When placing the collar on, the inner straps lie on top of each other and then the top straps buckle closed. This makes for a bit of overlap on the back of your neck if you aren’t using the largest setting.

The collar adjusts from 12” to 18”, and there are 10 holes for size adjustment to accommodate a variety of necks. The collar can become hot after extended use, but due to the unfinished soft backing on the leather backing it never became terribly uncomfortable.

Two 12” black chains hang down from the D-ring. Since the chains move around the ring, the collar can be buckled from either side. Each chain ends in an adjustable broad-tipped clamp, attached with a small metal ring. The chains have some weight to them and hang nicely without twisting or crimping.

The clamps are very short and have a wide tip. They have removable rubber tips if you like more pressure on your nipples. The clamps are easy to open, like a clothespin, and have an adjustable screw that changes the pressure, grip, and pain of the clamps when they are on the nipples.

The collar was easy to put on and buckle, and easy to remove. I had no problems adjusting it to the right size. I could not get the clamps to work. Because they are so short, they didn’t attach well to my nipples. I tried squeezing and pinching mine before attaching the clamps, but I could not get the clamps on far enough to stay in place for any amount of time.

Leather is water resistant, and does not tear or puncture easily. It is best cleaned with a damp cloth and a mild soap. The collar can be stored folded, with the chains and clamps nestled below it.

The collar and clamps come in a huge plastic clamshell-like case, which is easy to open. They are nicely displayed through the front, and information is provided on the back of the cardboard insert. When removed from the package, there is a light, pleasant leather smell.

I was determined to make this piece work since I liked the look so much. Fortunately I have a variety of different nipple clamps (all of which are much longer than the ones on this piece), and I decided to replace them.

A pair of pliers and gentle pressure opened the ring enough to remove the attached clamp, and add a larger one of my own. I found this didn’t change the look as much as I feared, and allowed me to wear it as intended.

My husband and I enjoy bondage play, and I love to use nipple clamps as often as possible. I'm also really starting to like collars. The Crave Collared Nipple Clamps by Spartacus seemed like a good choice. Once I switched the clamps, it was ready for use.

I didn’t have too much difficulty buckling the collar on, and with the new clamps added it looked really nice. Definitely sexy! I paired it with a black leather skirt and heels, and my husband really liked it. I expect to get a lot of use out of this piece – it’s one of the prettiest collars I own.
