Bound by diamonds ankle cuffs by Cal Exotics - review by BoomersGirl

To be honest, my first thought was "What in the heck am I supposed to do with these?" I just didn't really see the point of binding mine (or hubby's) ankles together. I kind of thought that would defeat the purpose. After some thought, I wondered if these cuffs would be interchangeable with our "under-the-bed restraint system". It was. So I exchanged the cuffs that came with that set for these new "Bound by Diamonds Ankle Cuffs". The result was less than earth shattering. Much, much less.

Aside from the sexy look (as long as you don't get too close to see that it actually looks pretty cheap and cheesy), I'm not seeing the use of it. Unless you are using them strictly to provide visual stimuli to your partner. Or maybe for photo-taking purposes. Because they did manage to look pretty sexy on the box anyway.

Now for the reality: The metal clips are not heavy-duty ones. They are pretty cheap in feel. But I suppose they are fine for some light-duty bondage and playing around. We didn't have any trouble with them coming off of the restraint system.

The main material of the cuffs is a glossy, plasticky-vinyl type stuff - something I haven't come into much contact with since sometime in the 1980s. This material is not breathable, so the result is your sweaty skin sticking to it rather unpleasantly. The edges are raw with some stitching inside. Doesn't LOOK bad, but although it's not necessarily sharp, the edges can and do rub against your skin causing red marks.

The "diamonds" - well, obviously not diamonds. They don't look bad from a bit of a distance, but up close, they are those very cheap cut plastic "gems". They are set within little plastic wells and seem secure enough at least.

The closures are satiny ribbon ties. Again, sexy idea. But taking the time to stop and tie them (especially if used with the wrist cuffs) can be a bit frustrating. We tied them in a double knotted bow and didn't have issues with them coming undone. However maybe because they are satiny, there seems to be a give to it so that they tend to feel looser in a relatively short amount of time. Not a huge deal. But other methods of closure tend to be more effective for me.

The size is large enough so that it should fit pretty much anyone - if you care to give them a try.

This one is sitting unused in a box in my closet. It is just not comfortable or functional and cheaply made.
