Let me begin by saying these cuffs are wonderful! While I doubt Nina Hartley would prefer these over the pricier leather cuffs, they make for a great addition to anyone's toybox.

Do remember these are designed for beginners, and not intended for heavy-duty use. We've mixed these cuffs with silk ropes and had great success. The velcro straps allow for quick adjustments and release - a great perk for beginners. But that same perk detracts if things really get going, as you or your partner can wriggle loose after some "tactical-tugging."

In all, these cuffs are simple, discrete, and durable.

We've used them pretty strenuously three times, and there's no fraying to speak of.

There is a neoprene-like lining on the inside of these cuffs that is great at preventing chaffing. This lining, though, is the source of my only complaint (and it's a very minor one): only half of the lining is sewn to the nylon outer. I was afraid the un-sewn portion would begin to slide. But, if you have the cuffs tight enough so to not simply slip out, the friction against the nylon keeps the lining in place, so no foul.

The inconspicuous design is invaluable if you require discretion. The only outright indication that you're holding a bondage restraint is the "Rachel's Pleasures" tags, which we easily cut off.

Though marketed for wrists, we found these cuff worked equally well (or a bit better) as ankle restraints. If you pick up 2 sets of these, you could definitely lace the 2 together for a quick and safe way to hog-tie your partner.

Like we noted above, we've used these with some simple silk rope. Though there are no buckles, you can still integrate these cuffs into ropes and chains by clipping a carabiners to the link.

For those who revel in self-bondage, these are a good choice because of the ease of use.

After spilling lube (and "other" fluids) on these, we tossed them in the washer - cold water, mild detergent, gentle wash, hang dry. Good to go!
