Fetish Fantasy web restraint system - restraints discontinued by Pipedream - review by LambChop

The Fetish Fantasy Series Web Restraint System is billed as "perfect for beginners." HOWEVER, this is an ingenious toy for ANYONE who likes bondage, or would like to explore bondage, both beginners and more advanced players alike. The more we look at this and play with it, the more ideas we get!

The web is made of soft black nylon webbing which is about 1" wide. There are three concentric circles with six lines radiating from the center, equally spread out, thus forming the spiderweb shape. Each junction of the webbing is firmly sewn together.

Four red nylon straps are each sewn by one end to the web. The red straps attach to the web at the other end by a simple adjustable plastic sliding lock clip which is also sewn to the web, forming a loop. Each loop goes around a corner of the mattress. Each strap is 85” long and can accommodate a single up to a king size mattress. A very thick King might be a tight fit though.

Attaching the Web to a bed is just a little bit of work. Allow 5 minutes or more the first time, and 2-3 minutes once you get the hang of it.
Place the straps down flat on the bed oriented to match the bed.
Pull the red straps fully underneath the corners of the mattress first. Then pull all four straps fairly tight. At this point you’ll need to go back around the bed and pull the non-buckle end of the red straps tight, and then pull the buckle end again. This permits a tight pull on all the sides of the web.
Pulled tight, the outside web oval is very tight but the center one (about a foot across) remains fairly loose. (Not "loose" like "escape-able" as it’s all attached to itself anyway, but there is a little slack in the center circle.)

Attached tightly to a bed, the web is about about 67” top to bottom, and 45” across. This means the web is not a TRUE circle, but more of an oval. Make sure you match the long side to the long side of your bed.

The cuffs are black neoprene with a layer of red nylon webbing on the outside.
The cuffs are 14” long, 2.5” wide, with 7” of neoprene padding. These max out at about 12” circumference.
The padding won’t cover the entire wrist except on a smaller arm.
There is a tiny little black velcro loop (4.75 inches long) attached to the outside of the cuff. This loop is for attaching the cuff to the web at any point along the lines OR around one of the junctions. A concern was if the attaching velcro strip would actually hold, since it is not very long or wide, but it certainly held on during our lighter play.

The blindfold is a simple nonpadded single layer satin with thin elastic head strap. It's nothing fancy, but serves its purpose.

I've read reviews that this smelled bad, was crooked, poorly made, etc. We had no such problems. The neoprene does have a slightly 'neoprene' smell to it at first, but it wasn't overwhelming. The web fit our Queen size bed correctly and tightly with a little adjustment. The stitching was secure, and my guess is that this will last quite a while.

Before using this, I did think that I might be able to pull the red straps off of the corners of the mattress while in the web. It turns out that the design is such that anyone attached to the web is pulling against the red straps (towards the mattress), and there's no way they're coming off. In theory, velcro is indeed escapeable, but this held firmly. Also in theory, the buckle-clips could break or give way, but in reality, I'm not that strong.

The web performed better than I expected.

Hand wash, spot clean, or use a lingerie bag in the wash. Do not put this in the dryer.

Storage is easy. Place the web in a plastic bag or small box and stash it away. This is totally travel friendly, as it is light, easy to store, and easy to install and remove.

Pipedream provides some photo inspiration on this glossy white box. There is a girl on the cover trapped in the web. The back of the box shows details of the product along with more photos, including a couple using the web. (We never did figure out why both of them have their feet strapped to the web!)
The packaging is definitely not discreet, as it proclaims 'FETISH' in all caps red along with the porny photos.

This may seem expensive, but there's a lot of bang for your buck. The ways to use this are neverending. Each point in the web is a restraint point, as are each of the lines, which work as sliding "runs" for the cuffs.

Add your own cuffs or clips to this and you open up more possibilities, like cuffing two parts in the same place. Don't forget, this works with your victim face up or face down, in any position.

We did note that although 'sliding' the cuffs along the weblines can be fun, if you're looking for a more secure fit (we were), attaching the velcro loop around one of the inside points of the web locks it into place.

The rays of the web can also be used as restraints without cuffs by putting your partner's limbs UNDER one of the weblines and THEN attaching the cuff. This effectively provides another restraint point midway up the arm or leg. SEXY!

FOLLOWUP: Upon our second use, one of the red bed straps came apart from the black web. :( The stitching was definitely not heavy enough for this type of use. Like I said earlier, I'm not that strong, but upon moving a certain way, it popped apart. We are going to sew it back together, (or just tie a knot), but after my initial exuberance, this is a little disappointing to report. :(
I STILL think it's an ingenious and VERY USEFUL toy. It just needs a little quality control at the factory.
