Rough rider studded - male condom discontinued by Ansell - review by ~LaUr3n~

I am one of those blessed women with the ability to get a lot of extra sensation from textured condoms. I used to think this was because I am smaller vaginally, but now I'm not so sure. Regardless, I love textured condoms and have always looked for more variety. I saw these when I was in Germany and had to get them! I had tried and loved the Durex version Intense Sensation, so I was hoping I would love these as well, and I did!

Compared to other condoms:

Average condoms have a thickness of 0.0027". So this condom is the same. You won't feel any difference here. If anything they will feel thicker because of the studs. Guys won't think these condoms are anything special for them. Hopefully, if you are a lucky woman like me, you will appreciate them though. Which in turn, should make your man appreciate them as well!

The average condom is 7.5" long and this one is a bit shorter. It is better for average sized guys. The reservoir tip is slightly above average, which means it may not have enough room for more than a teaspoon or two of semen. I would not recommend using this on a penis longer than 6.75 inches long to ensure a little extra ejaculation room just in case.

Average shaft and base width for condoms is 2". The Rough Ridders Studded condom is a little bit bigger at 2.09" wide. This is a little better for those who are average size or more. It will be a tight fit for some though. But, since the length is best for average sized guys or smaller, they may fit the girth as well.

Average condom head width is 2.125". This condom has a head width of 2.09". This provides no extra head room and comfort for friction. This condom has a no taper or natural shape. This is a major flaw in design for this condom. If you have a significantly larger head, this condom will probably not be comfortable for you. Apparently, they forgot all about male sensation when designing this condom!

The studs feel amazing though. They are all over the condom, from tip to base. They are different from Durex in that they are more raised. However, they are smaller. I could feel these even more than I can feel the Intense Sensations condom from Durex. You could add one to a slim and smooth vibrator for a little extra feeling.

The lubrication is mediocre. It is a water based lube. I found that extra needed to be added. I think this may be due to the weird packaging that rough rider has. their condoms are packaged as ovals to save packaging. This doesn't allows for a lot of lubricant to be in the wrapper. Props for being greener though! Make sure to add extra lubricant if it is needed. The added lubricant helps to decrease the chances of the condom breaking due to dry friction.

This condom is average in smell, which means you can notice it and it will need to be washed off your hands and genitals afterward otherwise it lingers. It smells a bit different from Durex and Trojan, but it is hard to describe. I have never had one of these condoms break. Never store a condom in your wallet, the friction can cause them to weaken and break. Keep them in room temperature areas.

I am giving these condoms 3 stars because of their shape. If they improve that, they will get 4 just like I gave the Durex ones.

Not that these are horrible, but I doubt I will ever use them again. The wrapper has been changed, but not the condom's shape which was the main downfall. Objectively, they are worth trying if you are sensitive to texture and have a smaller than average sized partner. I used the other two of these condoms on toys and they worked well. I know these obviously appear on Eden, but I have yet to see them in stores other than in Europe.
