Because of this factor, it is easier to readjust the straps without taking the entire harness off. The straps are held in place by two nickle-plated belt buckles in the front, and two metal d-shaped rings in the back. Both hold the straps down very tightly but are very easy to use. The Commando harness fits up to a hip size of 46". I wear a men's size 28 pants, and the lowest possible setting fits me nicely. I happily wear the vegan commando daily when I pack and later when I play. It has yet to deteriorate in any way and I hardly notice it during the day. It has always been very easy to clean while resisting tearing/stretching. The faux leather is very soft and conforms extremely well to my body. I really love that I never have to take it out for changing toys/restrooms. However, I did find the need to add another belt hole for a tighter fit on my small waist. I plan to continue to wear the vegan commando regularly and am happy knowing I could just replace it for free if there ever was a need.
