The Latigo leather harness is a step up from most beginner harnesses. For those who don't know, harnesses are traditionally used as a way to attach a dildo to the pelvic region of the body so that a female can penetrate another person (male or female), however they can also be worn by men. My particular interest was to have my partner use this in conjunction with the Tantus Silk Large, an act known as pegging. Being new to pegging, I picked this harness because it had some features that others didn't, and it's clearly designed as a no-frills harness with a simple but durable construction that should last for years, even when used on a regular basis. There are certainly some fancier harnesses available, but I wasn't ready to spend a lot of money on something that I wasn't sure would be used heavily.

The straps are made of soft, smooth nylon webbing with heavy duty plastic adjusters that should withstand heavy use. There is a black leather pad that goes behind the toy, and this is the only part that I was not entirely satisfied with. It's made of a material known as PU leather, which is a single layer of split-grain leather with an artificial plastic skin laminated to the front. It's less porous than real leather, which makes the front surface waterproof and easier to clean, but otherwise it's just an inexpensive material that lets the manufacturer say that it's leather. It's rather hard, and it doesn't soften with time like real leather does. The side that is in contact with the body is still exposed leather, so you need to keep it dry, and it's a bit rough on the skin. It's not a bad material for the purpose that it serves, and it would be unthinkable to expect real leather in this price range. The straps attach to a rubber toy ring with metal snaps that can be detached for easy cleaning. The snaps are chrome plated steel, and are certainly strong enough.


One of the snaps on mine has a tiny bit of rust, so you need to be careful to dry them thoroughly if you get them wet. Overall, the harness doesn't have any strange smells.

This is a double strap harness, which leaves the wearer's anus and genitals accessible, unlike a single strap harness. There is a waist loop and two adjustable leg loops to keep it in position, and a black rubber ring that holds a toy of your choice. All four straps attach with metal snaps that can be detached for easy cleaning.



There is a black PU leather pad that goes behind the toy, which doesn't have any trim around the edges. The straps pass through slots in the pad, which are again, not trimmed around the edges.

Above is a picture showing the fit of the Tantus Silk Large. The adjustable waist strap is about 65" long and the leg loops, also adjustable, are about 36", so it will accommodate quite a range of body types. Because of this, you may find that the loose ends of the straps need to be trimmed down, which can be done with a sharp pair of scissors and a match to melt the ends. The straps attach to a rubber toy ring that measures 1.5" on the inside, although it will stretch much larger than that. The ring is perfectly sized to hold a wide range of toys, and when properly adjusted, everything is held in place both comfortably and securely.

This harness fits very well, and most importantly, held toys very securely, as is typical of most double strap harnesses. I could definitely tell when my partner moved in any direction, and it gave her excellent control over the angle and position of the toy. Although I didn't actually use it on her, I did try it on. We both agreed that it was comfortable and could be worn for long periods of time. The pad that goes behind the toy was a little bit rough against the skin, but not enough to be a problem. The straps adjust quickly and easily, and are adjustable to any length. There are no buckles, so you'll have to move the adjusters and reset everything every time you put it on, but it's not a big deal. Unlike a single strap harness, it can be a little confusing to figure out where each strap belongs, but once you get it figured out it's pretty simple. As I mentioned earlier, its adjustable to fit a wide range of body types, which has the side effect of leaving long ends flapping around when worn by someone with a smaller frame. We trimmed the straps down a bit once they were installed to take care of that. One minor feature that would have been nice would be to have the adjusters replaced with adjustable buckles to make it quicker and easier to put on, but it really wasn't a big deal.

With detachable straps, this harness is very easy to clean. A first time harness owner may find it confusing to figure out where the straps go when it's time to put it back together, so take notice of where things are before you take it apart. The leather pad is the only part that needs any special care, and that just means keeping it dry. Everything else can be cleaned with soap and water or tossed in with the laundry, although most of the time it was sufficient to detach and wash just the ring and toy, and wipe down the leather pad. One of the buttons has a little rust on the lettering, so if you get the straps wet, make sure you dry them quickly and thoroughly.
