Jolly rider - double strap harness by EdenFantasys - review by Lilith Bealove

The Jolly Rider is a simple, easy to figure out, 'one size fits most' harness. Don't misunderstand what I mean by 'one size fits most,' this harness can accommodate a wide range of body types. By 'one size fits most,' I mean dildos. This harness only comes with one ring, which secures to the harness via snap fasteners (as seen below). The hole and the ring through which you will put the dildo through is not adjustable.

I feel like this is the better alternative to the Vibrating Harness Kit I reviewed earlier this year. Comparing the two: this one may not come with a dildo, but it is cheaper, the material is gentler on the skin, and the straps fit better. I use ours with the Siren, which fits perfectly.

I hate suggesting toys based on 'beginner' or 'advanced' users because these terms mean different things to different people. Instead, I am going to suggest this harness to anyone looking for an inexpensive but well-made harness. We use ours for pegging, but it would be a great addition to the toy boxes of those looking into or interested in strap-on sex or gender play as well.

The Jolly Rider is constructed of leather and metal. The metal, is as expected, cold to the touch, but warms up to body temperature quickly. I cannot find any information on what sort of metal the fasteners are: nickel, silver, etc. But the metal does come into contact with your skin, so if you have an allergy or are sensitive to certain metals, you may want to consider another option or wear underwear under this harness.

The straps are made of leather. The outside of the leather is smooth but has that tough leather feel to it. The inside of the straps, the part that rests against your skin, has more of a felt feel to it and is soft to the touch. Upon closer inspection, it would seem that the rough outer layer and the smooth inner layer are two pieces sewn and glued together. Fear not, though, the thread is thick and the glue is durable - just be sure not to completely soak your harness!

As mentioned above, the Jolly Rider is constructed of leather and metal. Leather strips are held together with silver metal rivets. These rivets are durable and provide a strong connection between the two pieces it is holding together. The strap that goes around your hips will accommodate up to 44-inches and down to 28-inches. This is adjusted in the same way one would put on a belt, but there are two belt buckles on this harness. The second adjustable part are the two straps that go around your inner thighs. These start at the top of your butt cheeks and go down between your legs, attaching to the triangular harness piece. They are adjusted by pulling the strap through or pushing it out of one end or the other of 2 metal d-rings. The good news is: once you get these set to your liking, you won't have to adjust them again!

Earlier I said this is a 'one size fits most' for dildos. With the 'O-ring' that is included you are going to only be able to fit dildos up to a size 1.5-inches. Depending on the base, you may be able to fit smaller dildos in the provided hole and 'O-ring,' but they may flop around more than you'd like. You can use this with other 'O-rings' to fit smaller dildos, but this is not for dildos over 1.5 inches because the hole you must put it through will not accommodate anything larger.

As mentioned above, this toy is adjustable in two different ways. Being able to adjust this toy makes it compatible with many different body types and sizes.This harness is a good fit for the majority of users! The great thing is that there is about 2-inches at the end of the hip straps that you could even make the toy fit wider hips than meant for. This, of course, would be a DIY project in which you make new holes in the end of the harness, but it can be done!

The Jolly Rider is easy to adjust and comfortable to wear. I haven't worn it under any clothes yet, but I am certain that with the right clothes you could hide it under your pants. It's as simple as putting on and taking off a belt, although the first time may require a bit more playing with the d rings than the proceeding times.

Putting my Siren into and taking it out of the harness proves to be a bit difficult, but I attribute this to the size and tacky feeling of the Siren more than I do to the harness. Working with the 'O-ring' is a bit foreign to me, so that is also a problem (for me!). Otherwise, it holds my Siren in a beautiful upright position that makes most pegging positions easy and fun!

Considering the material of the toy, I wipe mine down with a damp cloth or wipe after each use. It doesn't suck up liquids, so no need to worry about it being porous. The metal bits do look like the outer layer may flake off or tarnish eventually, but with proper care, this can be avoided. As with all of my toys, I highly recommend storing this one out of direct sunlight and away from jelly or rubber toys.
