A Wild Ride With Dangerous Curves
The Bonez Graduated Double is not for the faint of heart; while it's not particularly girthy, it's texture and firmness make it something of a challenge. For the most part, though, it's a challenge that pays off, since the various bulges are great for G-spotting. With a few minor tweaks it would be perfect.

Use
The thing that sets the Bonez Graduated Double apart is obviously its shape. Dildos with a straight shaft generally don’t do much for me, but the knobs on this toy make it good for G-spotting despite the lack of a curve. Partly depending on which end you choose, you can use this toy either by thrusting or clenching around it—you should feel it against your G-spot either way. On a similar note, this toy can double as an exerciser for your PC muscles. All in all, I would say that it’s a good first toy for anyone new to texture, but not a good toy for someone new to penetration, since the texture could make insertion uncomfortable.
I keep going back and forth on whether you could use this toy anally, but I’m inclined to say you can—with caution. The Graduated Double has several grooves and its shaft narrows in the middle, so I think if you use it shallowly you’ll be fine. But please be careful and don’t insert it more than a few inches. Also, since it can’t be sterilized, use a condom if you want to be able to use it both vaginally and anally.
Lastly, while it’s a double-ended dildo, this really only refers to the fact that both ends can be used for insertion; it’s probably not long enough to be used comfortably by two people at once, and there’s the sterilization issue to worry about as well.

Material / Texture
The Graduated Double is made of black TPR—a sort of rubber compound that is hypoallergenic as well as phthalate and latex-free and thus much safer than run-of-the-mill rubber (TPR gets a 7 on the safety scale, while rubber only gets a 3). It’s not as good as silicone, glass, or even some plastics, but it’s a decent material, and it was perfect for me; I’ve used penetrative toys before but none with very much texture, so I wanted to see if I liked the general concept before getting something more expensive. It is semi-porous, though, so clean it with some kind of antibacterial soap or wipe, and use a condom if you plan on sharing.
TPR is not as firm as glass or hard plastic, but it’s definitely more rigid than any silicone I’ve ever used. I can bend the Graduated Double a little bit, but it takes some effort; it’s not a toy that’s going to mould itself to your internal contours, and it’s highly textured, so be careful that you don’t bruise anything if you’re thrusting with it. It also doesn’t have much give to it if you try to squeeze it between your fingers, so the 1 1/2” diameter of the toy feels more substantial than a similarly sized toy made of silicone would.
TPR isn’t my favorite material as far as texture goes, but it’s okay; it basically just feels like rubber. It tends to pick up prints and smear-marks from your fingers, which I with my fastidiousness find a little icky, but you can wipe it off. It also has a fair amount of drag to it, so I would recommend using some kind of artificial lubricant unless you’re a female-bodied person who’s already very wet.
The toy did have a faint rubbery scent when it arrived, but nothing that will make you recoil in horror as soon as you open it up; I could only smell it when my nose was pressed up against it. The taste was also a bit unpleasant—bitter, to be exact—but again, how often are you going to be putting this thing in your mouth? I’ve washed the toy a few times (and used EF’s wipes on it) and the scent is unfortunately still there, although weirdly, the taste is gone.

Design / Shape / Size
Wow, how to describe the crazy design of this toy? Well, to start with the basics, it’s about 7 1/2” in length, and while the toy stats say 6 1/2” of it are insertable, you will probably only be using about half the toy at once, realistically—the texture is just too intense for more than that. Obviously the width varies significantly, but at its widest, the Graduated Double is about 1 1/2” in diameter (or 4 3/4” in circumference).
Now on to the hard part. I would argue that the Graduated Double is about as discreet as sex toys get since it doesn’t vibrate and isn’t phallic in shape, but at the same time, I’m not exactly sure what else it could be mistaken for—but maybe that’s just my perverted mind talking. I do agree with the other reviewers who’ve said that the more textured end resembles a chess piece, but since the toy itself is obviously much too large to function as such, I’m not sure what I’d say it looks like. A baton, maybe? Or some kind of strange barbell? In any case, the important thing to note is that it has two ends: one with a larger, rounded head and a tapering shaft, and one with a series of bulges that increase in width the farther down the toy you go. For ease of discussion later on, I have numbered the Graduated Double’s various bumps and knobs in the picture below:
Also, notice the seam that runs down either side of the toy. I couldn’t feel this at all while the toy was in use, but extremely sensitive users may find it distracting.

Performance
The great thing about this toy is that the two ends really do feel quite different, so it’s like getting two toys for the price of one. That said, while I enjoyed each end, I had a few issues with the more textured one.
First of all, I should note that you definitely can feel those bulbs and ridges as you insert the toy, and that if you’re not warmed up, it can be a bit much. Even once it’s inserted, this end of the toy is intense (although mostly in a good way). Bulb 3 felt particularly interesting going in; the disc-like shape was a new experience for me, since I’m used to toys that have more rounded or tapered heads. It definitely “pops” rather than slides in. Bulb 3 is also something of a novelty in terms of G-spotting; even when I’m thrusting extremely shallowly, it feels like it’s almost...tugging at my G-spot? It’s definitely intense, but it also feels pretty amazing.
My main complaint with this side of the toy (and with the toy in general) is bulb 4. In a way, I feel like this is an unfair criticism, because there’s nothing “wrong” with it—it’s just a design I don’t care for. Still, I think it’s worth mentioning in case anyone else shares my pet peeves. So here’s the deal: Normally I prefer toys with larger heads and tapered shafts and, as you can clearly see in the pictures, this end of the Graduated Double is basically the exact opposite of that. Still, I wouldn’t have minded that if it hadn’t been for that last bulge. Unfortunately, bulb 4 rests just inside of my vagina, where it doesn’t do anything except make thrusting uncomfortable; maybe I’m weird, but I just don’t like the feeling of having the entrance of my vagina stretched while the rest of my vagina isn’t. Inserting the toy more shallowly doesn’t work either, though, because while I don’t have a particularly deep G-spot, bulbs 1 and 2 aren’t wide ENOUGH to hit it. Bulb 3 feels divine, but it would be infinitely better if the shaft tapered below it.
So that’s my rant about the textured end. The other end is a little bit more basic, so I didn’t expect much from it, but to my surprise it felt really good. First of all, it’s got a wider, rounded head and a tapered shaft, which is pretty much my favorite design in terms of internal toys. And while it’s not curved, somehow it manages to hit my G-spot really, really well—as in, better than any other straight-shafted toy I’ve tried. I’m not exactly sure what to attribute this to, but the more I think about it, the more I think it’s a combination of the firmness of the material (I’m a fan of pressure) and, most of all, the ease with which I can thrust it. The textured end may leave something to be desired in terms of insertion, but it rocks as a handle. I can slide my fingers into the grooves and get a really good grip, so angling the toy in just the right way is never a problem.

Care and Maintenance
As I mentioned early, the Graduated Double can’t be sterilized. It is, however, relatively easy to keep clean, since you can use either toy cleaner or mild soap and water on it. Because TPR is semi-porous, I would recommend using something with antibacterial properties. I’ve been using EF’s wipes just to make sure nothing gets left behind, but I usually combine that with a quick rinse in the sink since I’ve noticed that bodily juices tend to cling more to the surface of this toy than they do to something like plastic or silicone.
Another piece of good news: you can use TPR with either silicone or water-based lube.

Packaging
There’s not much to say about the packaging of the Graduated Double, because there’s not much packaging. It comes in a clamshell package that has a paper insert with various black tattoo-like squiggles on it. There’s very little in the way of instructions—not much beyond a statement informing you that the Graduated Double is made of non-toxic, phthalate-free TPR that is compatible with silicone lube. It’s not tacky packaging, but it wouldn’t be especially good for storage or a gift.

Experience
The first time I used this toy, I used only the more textured end and was decidedly on the fence about it. The texture was a bit overwhelming at first, and I couldn’t quite figure out the best way to use it, since thrusting hard with it was uncomfortable.
The second time I got the Graduated Double out, I decided that I would use the more textured end to “warm up” for the other end. In retrospect, I had this backwards, because while the textured end is smaller in diameter, it is way more of a challenge to use. In any case, I had more luck with it the second time, and it was during this session that I began to appreciate the many ways this toy can be used.
Using a clitoral vibe and the textured end (and moving it only a centimeter or so back and forth), I had a short, intense orgasm. Good, but nothing I’m not used to. When I flipped the toy around, not only did I come within a minute or two of thrusting, but it was the sort of longer, rolling orgasm that I’ve only managed to get by combining clitoral stimulation and tons of pressure on my G-spot. It hit me so quickly that I felt the need to go for another one; by that point, I was starting to get tired, so my orgasm was shallower and took longer to get to, but it gave me a chance to appreciate how good just thrusting the Graduated Double could feel.
I still wish that the textured end were easier to thrust—Bulge 3 is pretty amazing, but I feel like I can’t fully appreciate it as it is. Still, that’s partly a matter of personal preference, and on the whole, I would strongly recommend this toy.

Follow-up commentary
I still like it
2 months after original review
To be honest, I don't use this toy very often. I still find the last bulge on the textured end uncomfortable, and the other end, while pleasant, doesn't really do anything that other dildos don't. However, I still think that this is a decent toy, and if you're looking to experiment with texture, you might want to give it a try.

Thank you for viewing Bonez black graduated double – double ended dildo discontinued review page!
In regards to the taste, that is likely the "releasing agent" that is sprayed onto the mold. It usually not washed off of lower quality toys.
Thanks for the info -- I had read conflicting things about TPR interacting with silicone, but I figured it was better to be safe than sorry...
I was actually a bit intimidated by that end at first, since I am the opposite of a size queen. For what it's worth, I was surprised by how easily it went in and how comfortable it was, but as I said in the review, that may partly be because I used the textured end first, which required a bit more effort.
Thanks for writing this!
Well...it was a free assignment, and I wanted to experiment with texture, so I thought I might as well go all out
