I really liked the look of The Legend by Doc Johnson as soon as I had seen it. It reminded me of an alien penis. Well, actually, I’ve never seen an alien penis but if I were to imagine an alien penis, the charcoal coloured Legend is close to what I’d imagine. I was hoping to get the charcoal coloured toy but I received the purple Legend instead.

The toy arrived in a plastic clamshell package. The front of the packaging states the company name, product name, and a few product features. The back states even more product features, the company contact information, and website. The packaging can be used for storage or it can be recycled.



The Legend is made of silicone. That being said, you’ll want to use water-based lubricants only with the toy. The silicone is firm with just a bit of squishiness to its outside. The shaft of the toy is flexible. I’m able to flex the toy so that the head is touching the base. Legend has horizontal ribs down the base, creating a bulged texture. Other than the ribs, the texture is smooth. There are no seam lines to the toy. There is also no scent or taste to the material.



The total length of the toy is just less than 7 inches and the insertable length is approximately 6 inches. The Legend has a total of 5 bulges to it, not including the base. It has a slight curve to its body. The base has a diameter of 2 ½ inches and a circumference of 8 inches. The toy can be used anally, vaginally, and is harness compatible. It can be used in or out of water because there are no mechanical components to the Legend. It’s a dildo, not a vibrator. Below is a photo of The Legend in the Fetish Fantasy Elite Universal Harness. I’ve taken measurements of each of the bulges, starting with the bulge that is right above the base. The first bulge (right above the base) has a length of 1 ¼ inches and a circumference of 6 inches. The second bulge from the bottom is 1 ½ inches long and has a circumference of 5 ½ inches. The third bulge is just less than 1 inch in length and has a circumference of 4 ¾ inches. The fourth bulge is 1 inch in length and has a circumference of 4 3/8 inches. Finally, the head of the toy has a length of 2 inches and a circumference of 5 inches. The head of the toy is the only part of The Legend that has a realistic look to it.

Putting those measurements in layman’s terms: the dildo would be best for those who are comfortable with a toy that has a circumference of around 5 inches. If you prefer the more slender insertables, The Legend may not be the best fit for you. The Legend has a length of 6 inches but you don’t have to insert the entire length. Lastly, you have to enjoy the bulged texture. The head is quite pronounced but the rest of the bulges are a bit subtler. I’d recommend The Slim by the same company if you were looking for a more slender, non-textured, harness compatible toy. My experience with The Legend was good. I had used the toy vaginally. I found the toy to be a bit thick, but that’s only because my main go-to toys are glass insertables. The majority of my glass toys are a bit more slender than The Legend, as I had mentioned, has a head with a circumference of 5 inches and than directly beneath the head is a circumference of 4 3/8 inches. You definitely get that “popping” sensation from the head. The other bulges are not as pronounced as the head though. You can still feel the other bulges but not as much as the initial insertion.

After a bit of warming up, the girth of the toy wasn’t an issue for me. I really enjoyed the texture to the toy and the sensations it provided. I probably wouldn’t recommend this toy to someone who is a beginner because the circumference may be a bit uncomfortable. It’s not like the toy gradually increases up to a 5 inch circumference. It begins with a 5 inch circumference and ends with 6 inches. It’s pleasurable but may intimidate new toy users.

The silicone picks up lint/pet hair/etc disturbingly easily. You’ll want to clean the toy both before and after each use. It’s really easy to clean though. You can clean the toy with soap and water, toy wipes, or a toy cleaning spray. The toy can be sterilized in a number of ways. You can wipe it down with rubbing alcohol or bleach/water solutions, put it in the top rack of your dishwasher, or boil it. This is especially important if you are using the toy anally, sharing the toy, or changing orifices (anal to vaginal).

Overall, I’m really happy with The Legend. I found the circumference to be a bit much at first but that’s only because I’m used to my more slender glass toys. After some warming up, I thoroughly enjoyed it. I’d recommend The Legend to those who are comfortable with a 5-6 inch circumference to their insertable toys and those who are comfortable with the bulged texture.

Lastly, for some completely useless information…

As I was measuring the toy, taking photos, handling it, etc, I realized that the purple coloured Legend doesn’t look anything like an alien penis. I still think the charcoal coloured Legend looks like an alien dick but this purple one started to make me think of something else…



…if Barney had a penis, I’m pretty sure it would look like The Legend.
