Heart-Throbber

Overall I was both surprised and pleased with the risky texture of the Throb. The silicone used is softer than most Tantus toys making the veins comfortable even if just for short but intense sessions.

Packaging:

The packaging of the Throb is Tantus’ usual style of packaging, a clear plastic box which is free of any sexual imagery. On the back and sides of the packaging you will find plenty of information about the silicone used in Tantus toys. He arrived in what I know as the slightly smaller size of Tantus box, fitting nicely in it with no excess packaging. As the clear plastic box is so transparent, it gives the advantage of being able to see the toy from every angle while it still sits in the packaging.

First Impression:

The first thing that I noticed about the Throb upon seeing it in person for the first time is how it is actually just as heavily veined and textured in person as it is in photos, if not more! In person the matte black appearance of the throb is beautifully dark and suits the unusual design of the toy. It has an ethereal look to it, almost like it belongs to a beastly winged bat-like creature (or hey it could just me that thinks like that) When placed next to both the Tantus Vamp and Raptor dildos it fits in with the mythical/mystical style that Tantus does so well.

Shape/Design:

Aswell as obviously being incredibly textured with veins, the Throbs shaft also has a noticeable curve to it. The base of the dildo is thick and sturdy particularly for such a relatively modest size of dildo. The head of the dildo is pronounced and semi-realistic in shape, it is also the only insertable part of the dildo that is smooth rather than textured.

Measurements:

Total length: 6 Inches

Insertable Length: 5 Inches

Circumference: 4 ¼ - 4 1/2 Inches

Base Diameter: 2 ¾ inches

In Use:

With its average to modest size but unusually heavily veined texture I was curious to see whether the Tantus Throb would be a hit or a miss for me. The head of the Throb, luckily, is smooth so as you start to insert it feels like any other dildo. Moving further onto the shaft the texture becomes apparent and lube becomes a must. When adding lube to the Throb I found it helps to deposit it between the raised veins or in the little nooks where veins meet.

The texture of the Throb though heavy and abundant was a pleasant experience for me. Each raised vein can be felt almost massaging every little bit the front wall while the texture on the back of the dildo is more subtle. An amount of G-spot stimulation can be felt with every thrust and obviously angling the dildo a certain way can help to exaggerate its natural G-spot curve.

While the matte material of the Throb has a particularly dry feel to it which can create a feeling of ‘drag’, I found that the texture provided enough stimulation to really help keep me naturally lubricated. For some I can easily imagine this being a dildo which requires re-applications of lube. Once lube becomes sparse on the surface of the Throb you certainly know about it!

While I was initially nervous about the texture of the Throb it proved to be both comfortable on initial insertion and highly stimulating once you get into things. For some the texture will no doubt be too much but I feel most will be able to enjoy the Throb even if just for shorter sessions. I personally enjoy mine hugely but usually when kept to a shorter sessions. This modest beast delights with texture and leaves me with a feeling similar to that I get after breaking out the much bigger Tantus toys in my collection.

Features:

O-ring harness compatible

Thick base

Flared base makes it ideal for anal use (if you can handle the texture)

Care:

Made of high-quality Silicone, the Tantus Throb is both Latex and Phthalates free, Silicone is completely non-porous meaning that it can be fully disinfected by boiling it for 3 minutes or by throwing it into the top rack of your dishwasher or it can be simply washed after use with warm soapy water or specialized toy cleaner, it is generally believed that silicone based lubricants should not be used with silicone toys. I would recommend using a generous amount of water-based lubricant with the Throb.

Care should be taken to make sure that the Throb is fully cleaned between uses. The veins can be incredibly difficult clean around so this isn’t quite as easy as other silicone toys are to clean. Aswell as being a harbourer of juices, the Throb is a major dust collector when left to sit out or if dried off with a towel. While using the Throb is a pleasure, the cleaning of the Throb is easily the one downside.
