My first time experimenting with a textured toy was very enjoyable. I've only ever used it for solo masturbation, but it can be used with a partner, just be sure that they don't get over zealous on the thrusting. Glass can be an unforgiving substance and if used to forcefully can bruise your cervix. Ouch! Using a small amount of your favorite silicon or water based lube should be efficient to make it slippery wet. Glass is an amazing material if you want a toy to play with temperatures, as it does an excellent job retaining it. This toy was not meant for anal play and should not be used anally either, due to the lack of a flared base.

Manufactured by SSA Glass, Royal Duet is made out of Pyrex glass which is: food-grade material, latex free, nonporous, phthalates free, hypo-allergenic and retains temperatures very well. It's not recommend that you boil or freeze it, more for the safety of your skin and lady bits. Letting it sit in or running water over it of the desired temperature should work just fine. If tragedy were ever to strike and it broke, instead of shattering into a million little pieces, it should break into large chunks.

As far as texture goes, you have your two sides, spiral and nubs with a smooth surface separating them with a head on each end. These textures are very noticeable when inserted, being the most felt the first few inches of penetration. It only takes a small amount of lube to get it slippery wet, silcon and water based lubes are fine. I personally have never had to use lube with it. Pyrex glass being a very firm material you should take care when thrusting so as not to bruise your cervix.

This a double-ended clear glass dildo with raised textures, which are done in blue. Being a slimmer toy, the raised textures can clearly be felt and take center stage when used. An added bonus to having it textured on both sides is that when one side is inserted, the other texture makes it easier to hold onto. With no curve to it, this is not a G-spot toy, so if you were looking for a G-spot toy I'd look elsewhere. This is not a discreet toy, you won't be fooling anybody if you leave it laying out in the open.

Being hand blown glass, every Royal Duet will be unique to a certain degree. For instance when I measured mine it was only 8 1/2" instead of the 9 1/4". The design and shape though will be the same.

The texture being the main attraction of this toy for me, it did exactly what I wanted it to... add extra stimulation. Being fairly new to toys in general, I wanted something to make me feel something inside my vagina because smooth toys weren't doing it for me. This toy gave me the option between two different textures; spiral and nubs. My favorite end was the spiral side, when pulling it out I felt a small popping sensation that I positively adore. Though if you are used to more girth on your toy you may not experience the same feeling. I did enjoy the nubs, it felt like a mini massage for the vaginal walls when rotated. The more sensitive may not like the nubs as much as I did. With either side, the feeling was most intense at the entrance and lessens the farther in I went.

This toy is easy to clean and, being nonporous, it can be sterilized. I wash mine with soap and water and occasionally toy cleaning wipes. Other methods I haven't tried that are also effective are the dishwasher, boiling it, and a bleach solution. As for storage, I keep mine in an Eden Fantasy toy bag inside of a box. The bag the toy came with isn't the best, but should be effective in keeping your toy from attaining any scratches. A padded bag would be best. If you do decide to share with another person, please use a condom to be on the safe side.

You'll receive your Royal Duet in a red velvety bag that isn't padded, so dropping it is a BIG no no as the bag will provide no padding. Opening it up the first time it should be wrapped up in bubble wrap to protect it during shipping. I used this bag for storage for a while but swapped it with another bag. If you do use this bag, tying the string at the top is a must so it doesn't accidentally fall out. As for instructions, warnings and manufacture aren't included. Just bag, bubble wrap and your new glass dildo. Upon receiving your new toy, inspect for any damages and scratches. If found, do not use and return.

This was my first textured and glass toy. I love it, it's my favorite in my slowly growing toy collection. Was hesitant at first to purchase glass but with a little nudge from the boyfriend it ended up in my cart. I'm so glad it did! I loved the texture of this toy especially with the spiral end fully inserted and the first two rows of nubs, then rotating them. Amazing! After having a textured toy, I don't believe I'll buy another smooth surfaced toy. I think I may have become addicted to glass toys, they're just so pretty. Though the only thing I don't like is that I keep my room on the colder side, when I grab it to play with it's cold! I don't like cold down there, but after a while it warms up. Though I don't hold that against the toy. I'd recommend this to anyone wanting to try a textured or glass toy.
