Dr. Laura Bergman's Ruby is a glass G-Spot dildo with a ribbed shaft.

It is intended to be used vaginally; however, if you are exceptionally careful or are using it with a partner, the Ruby could be used anally. The very end is a bit thicker than the other flares in the shaft.

When used vaginally, it is used to stimulate the g-spot, but it also stimulates the walls of the vagina with its ribs.

As with all firm toys, you should be careful not to use it too rough; there is no "give", so it's more likely that you will bruise your cervix. You should also be a bit careful with lubes, because glass is very slick when wet!

It maintains both heat and coolness well.

Ruby is made of tempered glass, one of the safest sex toy products around. Because it's glass, it's nonporous and latex free. It's also dishwasher safe and boilable. You can also bleach it for ultimate sterility.

This toy is very slick, with a few flared spots along the shaft. The G-Spot stimulation tip of the Ruby is shaped almost like an exceptionally flat thumb.

Because it is glass, it is odorless, which means the more scent-sitive among us will be happy with it.

The Ruby was designed with large rounded bulges in the shaft, which I found to be easily felt during insertion. Although it is not a large dildo (about 7" long, with 5 3/4" of insertable length, and a diameter of 1 1/8"), I found that I was not left wanting more length; a problem I often have with G-Spot toys.

However, once you insert the Ruby, there is no way to determine which way the tip is facing. One way to remedy this is to place a piece of tape on one side, so that you'll be able to note which way it is inserted.

This toy performed exceptionally well for me; the ribbed section of the shaft made the entire insertion pleasurable and the rigidity of the toy made G-Spot thrusts easy and delightful.

Because it's made of glass, it's slick and thrusts well; I don't need lube in order to enjoy the Ruby, which means I'm less likely to drop it or have it slip during play.

Glass is very easy to maintain, being dishwasher safe and boil-friendly (though do keep an eye on it, never leave boiling toys unattended). However, remember that the Ruby should be handled with care and should be inspected before every use for cracks or imperfections in the glass--you do NOT want to discover a problem in the middle of playtime! It is safe to use any kind of lube with glass.

I store this toy thickly wrapped up in soft velveteen, as I have not yet purchased a pouch for her. Glass should be ideally kept in a fluffy pouch that will prevent it from splintering or cracking during storage.

The Ruby came with informative instructions telling you how to find your G-Spot was cool and would be great for beginners, but it does NOT come with a storage pouch, so remember to purchase one with the Ruby.

I would not, however, gift it in the box--it is a simple plastic case, but nothing special. For gifting, perhaps putting it directly into a storage pouch would be better.

I have tried many toys, from G-Spot to anal and vibrators to massagers, and this is truly one of my favorites. Something about the combination of texture and solidness in the g-spot thrusts makes this wholly successful.
