Valley play ended at the ridge

A safe high-quality vibrator, that is quiet and easy to clean. Its large size and hefty weight feel wonderful, but there is a ridge partway down the shaft that some people may find to be painful.

We'd never purchased a vibrator before and when Alan first brought out the Deuce 1, the size alone was an instant turn on for me. Weighing in at over 1/2 pound with a diameter of 1.75", this toy is definitely built for big fun!

The Deuce 1 has a rather pointed head, making penetration easier, and is made of medical-grade silicone that is smooth in texture and has no smell. It has a very firm feel and doesn't bend too much, so if you're like us and haven't got any qualms about storing your toys on a shelf; the Deuce one will stand on its own.

It comes with a 1-speed push button controlled bullet vibrator (batteries included), that inserts into a hole at the bottom of the toy, and has a thick base for harness use. You will definitely want to apply a little lube to the bullet before putting it in the toy though. We forgot to do so, and spent nearly twenty minutes trying to get it back out! The vibration level is gentle. It is very nice for initial arousal, and the toy is quiet enough that you can feel confidant that no one who isn’t in the same room with you will hear it.

Cleaning the Deuce 1 is a breeze. We used a water-based lubricant when we were playing with it, and simply washing the toy with warm water and soap restored it back to like-new condition with no residue. You can also boil it or bleach it to fully sterilize the toy, but we didn't do either because our experience with Deuce 1 was less than stellar, thus we only used it once internally.

We have noticed that the Deuce 1 tends to pick up lint, so you may want to keep this in mind when you’re thinking about laying it down or storing it.
Experience
Alan says: The Deuce 1 was our first vibrator, and I had the misfortune of being the one who introduced it into our bedroom. We had talked before about buying one and, thinking that all women would enjoy a bigger "thrill", I figured that something of this magnitude would be a pleasant surprise for Michele. Then when I read that it was also made of hypo-allergenic silicone, I thought "What could go wrong?". Little did I know that I would soon be in the dog house.

At first, all was well. Her eyes lit up when I brought our new toy out of the drawer, and she was definitely eager to play. We spent a few minutes testing out the vibrations and noise level, both of which were pleasing, and then got down to business. I spent a fair amount of time teasing her with it, rubbing it on various places of her body, and paying particular attention to the clitoral and labia area. She seemed to enjoy that quite well, saying that the vibrations felt "just right".

When it came time to actually insert the toy though, things went downhill. Michele enjoyed it at first. After a little more than half of the toy's length was inside her, she called a halt to it because it was uncomfortable. I had coated the Deuce with plenty of Astroglide lube before trying to insert it, so I didn't think that was a problem, but thought maybe I hadn't used enough. I tried more lube and a different angle but had the same results.

After a quick inspection we realized that there is a hard ridge about 4" down the shaft from the head of the toy, and it was causing her pain. Needless to say I was not willing to experiment with it any further vaginally, and the Deuce 1 has been reduced to little more than an external massager for us.

Michele says: I cannot say that I completely dislike this vibrator, because it has many excellent qualities, but I would not be willing to use it for full penetration again. When we first started playing with it, the vibration level was definitely arousing. It felt particularly good when Alan pressed the length of the toy between my legs from clit to anus.

Equally as wonderful was the feeling of the initial penetration. Deuce 1 stretched me a bit, and its hefty weight added to that wonderful sensation of fullness that I love. However, once he inserted it far enough to hit the ridge on the shaft of the toy, it was flat out painful. I was SO disappointed, because if it weren't for that darned ridge, I'm sure the Deuce 1 would have been one of my favorite toys.

The bottom line is that the Deuce 1 is a real pleasure-giver in many ways. It works nicely as a gentle-intensity clitoral stimulator, and would likely be a decent G-spot stimulator as well. However, if you intend to "go deep" with it, be sure you are ready to conquer the ridge!
Follow-up commentary
For a couple of months I really tried to become more fond of this toy, but using it never did become more comfortable for me. It's just not my thing. We eventually gave up and bought the Tantus O2 Revolution, which is of a comparable size, and it's wonderful. So if you're having trouble with the Deuce 1 like I did, give the Revolution a try--- you won't be sorry!

From a technical standpoint though, the Deuce 1 hasn't shown any signs of wear, and the vibrating bullet is not a battery hog, so we've taken to using it in other toys whose bullets aren't quite so reliable.

Sometimes it is best to start small and work your way up.
What size and how many batteries does it use?
Thanks for the review and welcome to the community

Very true! We found that out when we were first exploring dildos, but now we have another that is pretty much the same size and the Deuce 1 still doesn't work for us. I think the difference is that Deuce's ridge is more of a sharp-angled line as opposed to being rounded and smooth, so it just seems harder somehow. I've heard of people that really enjoy it though, so it's probably just something with me personally.

As for the batteries, it takes 3, and they are just standard watch batteries (LR44). The first set is included with the toy, and they last a good long while. The bullet also fits in several other toys we have, so that was an added bonus for us.

Have you tried using other lubes with the Deuce? Would you recommend it for backdoor fun or is the base too narrow?

    good review!

    Thank you Smile
Yes we tried several lubes, but it just didn't override the fact that the ridge in question is very prominent and hard. I'm just not into quite that much stimulation I guess.

As to whether it would actually be safe for anal play I would say yes, because the base is wide enough to keep from losing it.
