Handcrafted wooden dildo #359 - g-spot dildo discontinued by Hardwood dildos - review by Tuesday

This is the toy to use for consistently great G-spot stimulation. It may not be the best choice for those with deep G-spots since the handle is short, but for everyone else, prepare to be very pleased.

It’s probably not anal safe, even if you insert the smaller end. There's nothing to keep it from slipping completely inside.

This would make an excellent travel toy - so light and yet sturdy too.

I ordered a beige 359, but mine looks more like the 'brown' colored dildo. The tag that came with it says its beige, but that it’s made from Cherry. Beige and Cherry? How can that be? But I know very little about different types of wood. I don't really care. It’s a wonderful, beautiful, smooth, hard wood whatever it is.

Hardwood Dildos are made in what appears to be a one-man shop, with each piece made by hand. The wood used comes from scraps from larger projects, donations, found wood or pieces from fallen or trimmed trees. None of it is purchased just to make these toys. I find this fascinating. What a way to keep expenses down. I like to imagine that the wood for my 359 was found while its creator was strolling through a forest.

Plus you can feel good that 359 is such an environmentally correct toy.

It’s completely smooth and shiny. The Hardwood Dildo site states that each piece is thoroughly sanded, after which five coats or more of Salad Bowl Finish is applied. My 359 is shinier than my one NobEssence toy. It appears to have more coating on it. It’s also even smoother than the NobEssence toy. But I can't say how consistent either company is with their finishing process. Your mileage may vary.

This is a completely safe product that would be perfect for beginners and experienced users alike.

It comes with a luxurious, deep purple velvet storage bag with a ribbon drawstring closure. The storage bag is velvet inside and out.

I didn't give the Pure Wand high marks when I reviewed it, yet every toy that resembles it at all seems to bowl me over. Dildo 359 is no exception. The business end is shaped much like the Pure Wand's bigger end. It’s even about the same size. It doesn't have the sharp angle change between the ball and stem though, so I don't have a problem with it catching like I've had with the Pure Wand.

The specs on this site say its five and a half inches in circumference. Mine actually measures out to be five and an eighth in circumference. My first thought after measuring it was that I wanted the missing three eighths of an inch! But after using it, I can see that it’s really excellent, if not perfect, the way it is.

Since each piece is completely handmade, sizing and shape variations are inevitable.

The straight end is four inches in circumference and can also be inserted, but I prefer the bulbed end.

Wood feels different from other materials. I regret that I'm stumped in my efforts to describe how, but it does. It may partly be that it doesn't feel cold on entry and doesn't heat up as much as metal or glass.

While I'm not sure I could tell the difference between glass, metal, or ceramic toys in blind test, I can tell the difference with wood. It has rapidly become my favorite toy material.

The only downside of this particular toy is that if the handle becomes wet with lube, it’s hard to hold onto. The entire toy isn't very long - only six and a half inches. So maybe if it were just an inch longer it really would be perfect, but this is only a minor, occasional inconvenience. The problem can be remedied by keeping a towel handy to dry off the short end.

The literature that came with this toy says to wipe it off with a clean cloth after use and occasionally wash it with mild soap and water.

Do not boil or put in the dishwasher.

Any lube is safe to use with Hardwood dildos.

The Hardwood dildo site states that if the toy ever becomes damaged, they will refinish it for the cost of postage. If it shows itself to be defective, they will replace or refinish it for you.

It arrives in a white box, similar to those used for jewelry. Open the box and you'll find the dildo inside its protective velvet pouch, with a small tag listing the product number and type of wood. Another small piece of paper gives just a touch of information about the toy, its finish, and cleaning instructions.

The lack of extra packaging is consistent with the environmental correctness of everything about the 359.

This toy has exceeded even the high expectations I had for it. I like the feel, the look, the easy maintenance - everything about it. It consistently feels amazing. I don't believe you can go wrong with this toy with the possible exception of those with deep G-spots who need toys with longer handles.
