Blue Thunder

This vibrator is quite simple and straightforward - not many bells or whistles, but nice and strong. It is good for all experience levels, from beginners to more experienced people. It is one one of the more rumbly ones out there, which can be good or bad depending on your preference. The motor is near the top of the toy (just under the top nub), but the vibrations transfer down the entire length of the toy, making it great for not only clitoral stimulation, but vaginal insertion and breast play. It can also be used for anal play, but as it does not have a flared base, use with caution. The different size bulges along the toy give it a great feeling when it is inside of you and the nub on the end is good if you want to focus the vibration on a particular spot (nipples, clitoris, etc.).

This vibrator is made of hard plastic, which rates as an 8 on the safety scale. It is made of non-porous, food-grade material, and is hypo-allergenic, latex free, phthalates free. If you are just feeling the texture of the plastic and disregarding the shape, the plastic itself is quite smooth. There is a very light plastic scent to it that I could only smell it when it was placed directly under my nose.

The design of this is a nice change of pace from your traditional straight, or even slightly tapered vibrators.

It is 6.25 inches long, 5.25 inches of which is insertable. The small-ish size allows it to be stored easily in a toy box or bedside table. Batteries are inserted or removed by screwing off the bottom "cap". The controls are on the very bottom - a dial that is turned to either increase or decrease the intensity of the vibrations. It does not have any special "patterns" - just a constant, strong, rumbling vibration that transfers down the entire length of the toy.

The bulges provide wonderful sensation when being inserted, moved, or held inside of you. From top (opposite end of the cap) to bottom, the circumferences of the bulges are (approximately) 2.5 inches, 4 inches, 4 inches and 4 inches. At its thinnest (right under the third bulge) it is approximately 3.5 inches. This makes it ideal for insertion, as it is not too large.

This can be used with either one hand or two, depending on your comfort level. I found that even when moving it and and out of myself, I could still operate the dial with the hand I was using to hold it. This left my other hand was free to give some attention to other areas of my body.

It runs on two AA batteries. As with most battery-operated toys, when the batteries begin to drain, the intensity of the vibrations wane, so be sure to have extras on hand.

While this toy claims to be waterproof, I would not feel comfortable submerging it in water, and even have some reserve about using it in a shower. For the sake of longevity, I would recommend keeping this out of the water and stick to using it in the bedroom.

This toy is also a little louder than other ones I have tried. If you have roommates, or share a bed with some one who is a light sleeper, this is probably not the best vibrator to use. It can most definitely be heard through the covers, and probably even through a closed door. Because of this, while it is small enough to fit discreetly in a backpack or overnight bag, I would not recommend it for traveling, unless you are sure the hotel you are staying in has nice, thick walls.

Care is quite easy. Because it is made of plastic, oil, water and silicone lubes are all acceptable to use. It can also be covered with a condom if you plan to insert it, which should make cleaning easier. It should be wiped down after every use using either a toy wipe, or some mild soap and water and patted dry before storage. As mentioned above, even though it says it is waterproof, I would recommend keeping running water away from the base.

Overall, this is a nice toy for the price. If you are new to the world of insertion, or looking to try something besides the traditional straight vibrators, this is a good option.
