Resonating butterfly - clitoral pump by Cal Exotics - review by *Country Girl Can Survive*

The Resonating Butterfly is a vibrating clitoral pump. It has tinglers and also a hand pump that allows you to suction the butterfly onto your vaginal area. To use this for its "intended" purpose, you would first put the butterfly on your vaginal area and then use the hand pump to get the suction to work to your liking. After the butterfly is positioned for your individual needs, you (or your partner) can turn on the vibrations by rotating the knob at the end of the butterfly. The antenna of the butterfly could be used for extra "tickling."

The Resonating Butterfly can be used for solo play or use with your partner. Although I preferred to use it solo. While using it with my partner I found it to be distracting and had to adjust it more than when it was just for solo action.

The Resonating Butterfly is made from a jelly material, which gives it a very low score of a "2" for safety. The jelly material cannot be sanitized through the use of boiling water. When a toy is made from the jelly material it cannot be shared (unless with condom usage). Because of the shape of this toy a condom would not work so I suggest the no sharing "rule".

In order to keep your Resonating Butterfly clean and as sanitary as possible, use warm water and a toy cleaner that is approved for jelly material toys. If you would like to use a lube with this toy, use a water or silicone based lube.

The Resonating Butterfly only comes in the color pink. I personally liked the color and the design of the toy. I thought the "belly" would be a little more flexible (they aren't hard but my expectation was softer) and that may come with more use. The length of the toy is about 4.5" and it weighs less than half a pound. The hand pump is made from hard plastic and is quite easy to use. It has a long clear tube that gives you enough length to use it conveniently.

As you can see the toy is shaped into a butterfly. I think that it could have been made slightly better (maybe the belly could have been a little smaller) to help the suction to stay in place. It was rather hard to keep it in place without holding the butterfly on the vaginal area.

The toy in general is small enough that you could travel with it. I would also find it more enjoyable to those that are a beginner or just getting into the toy scene.

The vibrations for the butterfly were pretty powerful considering it is powered by 3 watch batteries. I did enjoy the fact that there were a total of 6 batteries in the box. To insert the batteries you need to twist off the knob at the bottom of the butterfly. Also if you would like to change the settings on the toy, you would also use this knob to go from one of the multiple settings that the toy has.

I found that that location of the speed knob was inconveniently placed at the bottom. I found this to be true because of the problem of holding the butterfly in place and trying to turn the knob to adjust the speed was awkward.

The toy itself is not horribly loud, but if your walls are thin or you are sharing a room (and trying to be discreet) this toy is not the toy for you. I did however shut my door and put the toy on high on top of my bed and the noise was very light but I could hear "something" coming from my bedroom. (If I didn't know what the sound was coming from.)

The suction part of the toy was a great idea but with this particular toy it was used more for pleasure instead of holding the toy in place. I used the suction concept like an oral simulator; which worked quite well to "start things off."

The butterfly is made with a jelly material. It is not the safest material to choose from. It only gets a safety ranking of 2!

Jelly toys cannot be sterilized in boiling water. Jelly toys cannot be shared without proper protection (i.e. condom) but like I said before, the shape of this toy prevents that so please do not share! It is recommended that you use warm water and a toy cleaner to clean this. The tentacles on the belly are flexible but I am quite OCD when it comes to cleaning my toys and I used a q-tip to get around them to make sure that I was able to get the entire toy clean.

This toy is compatible with water and silicone based lubricants. I did not find it necessarily to use a lube. I was having enough trouble to get the butterfly to stay and the lube would have made it almost impossible, in my opinion.
