"The case of the disappearing vibes; or the story of my first vibrator"

Great introduction to clitoral stimulation. It lets you experiment with speed variation that you could only get with a dial control. Is inexpensive as far as most vibrators are concerned. Lasted me a yr. and 9 mos. If you want something that lasts longer, you should invest in a more expensive toy. Great for novices because of the low noise and small size. The flimsy wiring could lower how long it lasts. The batteries get used up fast. The biggest downer is the cleaning involved.

Use

*I'm adding an edit note here: I have looked over more of the description and the other review and it seems like the company might have improved on their product since i bought mine a year and 9 months ago. I am 100% sure that this is the same one. Mine had to use AA batteries and it wore out all the time. perhaps the 3 watch batteries make it last longer which would be a great improvement. It seems like the box it comes in is also different since someone else said there was no description on how to use it. The naked lady on the box clearly gave me an idea on how to use it. I also remember getting instructions with mine. Hopefully they have not stopped sending instructions. Also, it seems that they might have changed the remote and the wiring. it looks like it might no longer have the batteries in the remote. I am just going to describe the experience I had with mine. Keep in mind that some of what I complain about might have been already fixed.

You'll have to excuse my somewhat lenient criticism on this little guy. It happened to be my very first vibrator, so i get sort of sentimental.

The Resonating butterfly™ is intended for clitoral stimulation via vibrating tickler locating inside the cup and a suction pump that also connects to the cup. Think of a brush for cleaning the dishes, only it is made out of jelly and it vibrates.

When I first got it I was disappointed in the suction device. It didn't mimic oral sex in my opinion and it would be incredibly tricky to have enough focus to work the pump while vibrating. Plus it was too hard on my vaginal lips when i tried doing the suction at the same time. It did carry me to an orgasmic flutter via clitoral tickling. I found it best to move it about on the sides of my labia minora.

This is best for the beginner, someone just starting out on the road to sex toys. Though it isn't the best vibrator out there, you will come to learn that $27 isn't much for a vibrator these days. That's why I think it is okay for a beginner to get because it isn't THAT expensive.

Material / Texture

The Resonating butterfly™ is made out of jelly and i believe, when i last checked, that it contains some silicone composites. It is still porous, so you shouldn't share it. the pink jelly has some glitter in it. i felt that the texture wasn't too hard.

I would be careful using silicone lube because i think that it might end up ruining it. I used it and i started to see a change with it after that.

Design / Shape / Size

I personally didn't like the little antennas on the butterfly. In fact the butterfly theme actually started to annoy me after awhile. it wouldn't be something i'd be comfortable showing a guy. so using it with a guy during foreplay wasn't really an option in my opinion. i'd feel sort of embarrassed having a guy see me stuff a pink butterfly up between my labia.

Despite the colorful and playfulness of the toy, the vibrator is discreet in that it is small. If someone should see it, you might be lucky in that they might just think you have a strange insect obsession. The only problem is if you leave the batteries in the toy it is easy for it to accidently turn on by itself. seriously, the speed dial is very sensitive. I have a vague memory of taking it with while moving and it turning on while i was in line at the airport. I think i've tried to block that memory out. you might be able to just get away with saying it is your electric toothbrush, but you know how guys are the *first* to jump to some sexual conclusion.

It uses up the batteries fast so it might be less discreet in the sense that your boyfriend or husband might end up wondering why the batteries for the tv remote are always missing.

Functions / Performance / Controls

I really enjoyed the vibrations and speed. you could really get the exact amount of vibrations that you wanted. A lot of vibrators out there just have a push button, which lacks in giving you as much control variation with speed.

It wasn't really that loud at all. It purred more than buzzed.

The one big downer is that after awhile I noticed there was cheap wiring. The remote with the speed dial was wired to the vibrator in a very flimsy way. It got to the point where I couldn't get any vibes. I would change the batteries and.... nothing. Then, all of a sudden, when I would move the cord a certain way, it would start vibrating! Also, as i said before, the dial is very sensitive. I would put it in my bag in my drawer and then a day or so later I would try to use it and the batteries would be all dead because it somehow turned on in my drawer. In a nutshell, you can't leave the batteries in it. Honestly, you really shouldn't be leaving batteries in any vibrator.

It lasted me a year and 9 months. It died a couple weeks ago. So you decide if that is worth it. personally i find it very sad that a family member i talked to told me her vibrator has lasted her since 1984. I can't think of any vibrator made these days that could possibly last that long. There really should be a vibrator made that can last longer than three years.

Care and Maintenance

When I read the instructions it said you can use rubbing alcohol. I don't know if my eyes were playing tricks on me, but I thought that you couldn't bleach or use alcohol on jelly. i also used water because you could gently wash it with mild soap and water if you avoided the wiring. this just doesn't seem right now looking back on it. it is porous, so the only thing you can do is not share it with anyone else and spray it with a toy cleaning spray and wipe it off with water.

I will agree with what someone else said, which is that this is a hard one to clean. the little ticklers create many crevices and it makes it hard to reach all the areas you need to clean. there is a possibility that i got some infections due to not cleaning it well enough. so that might make you want to reconsider buying a more open cleanable toy.

Packaging

I specifically remember the box the Resonating butterfly was packaged in. the box had like a naked lady on the front pleasuring herself with the toy. you make up your mind on how discreet that can be. There were instructions.

Personal comments

When i used it, it took me two AA batteries. though here it says three watch batteries. maybe they changed it.

Experience

my Resonating butterfly lasted about a year and 9 months.
