If you're looking to start playing around with some kinky toys but have no idea what you're looking for, this is a great kit for you. It has most of the popular kinky toys, and they're all pretty functional, even if they're pretty cheaply made. This kit is great for beginners or for people who want to experiment with some new toys.

Use

This kit contains just about everything you could want for a kinky night. It's not all the most well-made set of items, but it's good to start figuring out what kinks you do and don't like. This set includes: a ball gag, butt-plug, Mini Mite vibe, love mask, handcuffs, nipple chain clips, hot wax candle, feather tickler, cat o' nine tails, gray silk tie, and ben-wa balls.

You can use the items for whatever your imagination can come up with. Use the handcuffs or tie for some restraint play. When your partner is bad, give them a swat with the cat o' nine tails. The butt-plug and the vibrator can both enhance sexual experiences. The tickler is perfect for teasing, especially while wearing the mask. The gag is great when your partner just won't keep quiet. It's also a breathable gag, so it's perfect for beginners. The nipple clamps might be intimidating, but you may find them fun. The hot wax candle can be lit for a sexy atmosphere. If you're into wax play, you may want to use it for that as well. However, when the box says "hot wax candle", it means "HOT". I'm not sure what kind of wax this candle is made from, but I've used paraffin and soy candles for wax play. This candle was on a completely different level. I was holding it up above my leg about 2 feet. The spot was still burning hot for about another hour. If you're into wax play, great. I'd definitely suggest a couple of test runs before dripping it on anyone, though, especially a beginner.

This kit is mostly good for light restraint or other light BDSM play. While some of the items could be used in a heaver scene, most of these just aren't well made enough to hold up. If you find that you like the toy in the kit, though, it gives you an idea of what to shop for later.

Design / Craftsmanship / Material / Size / Fit

Each toy is completely different, so they'll be broken up into a few key things about each one.

Ball-Gag: This is a great little breathable ball gag. The ball seems to be made of rubber, due to the smell/taste of it. The ball isn't very big and has several holes drilled in it. The edges of the holes are all smooth. The straps are made of faux leather on the outside, with a softer material inside that cushions your face. It is not a locking buckle, and the straps should fit most people. It's pretty well made, and I wouldn't worry about it breaking at all during use, even during heavier scenes.

Butt-plug: This plug is good for beginners. It seems to be made of rubber. It's very soft and flexible. It also has a nice flared base. I say it's perfect for beginners because it's only about 3-4" long, and a little thicker than my middle finger. If you're interested in anal play, this toy is a good place to start your adventure.

Mini Mite Vibe: This is a nice little clitoral vibrator. It comes with 4 different removable caps; each cap has a different texture. One is a dome shape with no texture. One has 6 tiny nubs on it for a little texture. Then there are two that have a spiky texture. One has a small amount of taller spikes, while the other has a larger amount of shorter spikes. Both of them are pretty sharp, but would be good for sensation play on your back/thighs. The vibrator is a little loud, but it's actually quite powerful. It takes 1 AA battery and is multi-speed, but the twist dial is very sensitive.

Love Mask: This is just your basic mask. It kind of has a tarp-like quality to it. It has an elastic strap and should fit most people. It actually blocks out 100% light for me, even in a room with a light on. It's not cute or stylish, but it's definitely functional.

Handcuffs: The handcuffs come with two little keys, but can be undone by a small lever on the side of the cuff. Even if you lose the keys, you'd be fine. They are your standard metal cuffs and are held together by two chain links. They're probably only about an inch apart. Since these are metal, they may cause some bruising around your wrists or get uncomfortable, but they're perfect for a little restraint. They're actually not bad quality cuffs.

Nipple Chain Clips: These aren't very "beginner friendly" clamps, in my opinion. There's really no way to adjust them, so they could hurt a lot. The clamps look like little metal clothes hangers. They're made of plastic, but they still deliver quite the pinch. The two clamps are chained together. If you've never tried clamps before, you might want to go with something you can adjust first.

Hot Wax Candle: This candle is very hot. I held it 2' above my leg and a single drop hit my calf. About an hour later it was still burning. I've used paraffin and soy candles for wax play before: they've been hot, but NEVER this hot. I suggest just using this to set a mood, and test it a lot if before you drip it on someone else, especially if they've never used wax before.

Feather Tickler: The tickler is pretty nice. It looks like it's a bit on the cheaper end, but it holds up fantastically to use. The handle part is made of clear, sparkly plastic, and the top part has the little bunch of feathers. The feathers are black with little silver strands of tinsel. They're very soft and ticklish. You shouldn't get the feathers wet, though, as it will ruin them.

Cat o' Nine Tails: This is like a small flogger. It has a nice sting when you swing it. It's also pretty lightweight and easy to swing. The ends are cut at an angle, so they really bite into you. It seems to be made of either leather or faux leather. The handle is kind of scratchy because of how poorly wrapped in the leather material it is. It's a good beginner toy, but most advanced users would want something that was a bit higher quality.

Grey Silk Tie: This is pretty much a long piece of satin. It's about 2' long about about 3 1/2-4" wide. It is silky feeling, which is how it gets its name. It's a beautiful, shiny gray color. This tie is perfect for light bondage play. You can use it to bind wrists/ankles, or even use as a blindfold. The possibilities are pretty endless.

Ben-Wa Balls: These balls can be used to help exercise your kegel muscles, but they can also be used internally during various sexual acts to enhance the sensations. I strongly suggest not using these anally. The balls are pretty small, probably only about as thick as my first finger. They're pretty smooth, except for a seam that runs down the middle of each ball. It's nothing that will scratch you, but it's definitely noticeable to the naked eye.

Performance

I was extremely pleased with the entire kit. Sure, some of the items were on the cheaper side, but they all did their job. It's the perfect kit for someone who's interested in expanding their toy collection and trying new things, but has no idea where to start. This gives you a little taste of everything.

The silk tie and the handcuffs are perfect for a little restraint. The blindfold and the tickler are both great for sensation play. The blindfold is also fantastic for sensory deprivation. The butt-plug and the vibrator are perfect for adding a little extra pleasure. The butt-plug is also small enough that it's perfect for beginners. The ben-wa balls are also wonderful for a little extra sexual sensation, or for kegel exercises. The nipple clamps could be a little intimidating, so you may want to try adjustable ones first. They're still not bad quality, though. The ball gag is wonderful. It's breathable, so even if you're new and nervous, or a mouth-breather, you can still be gagged. The cat o' nine tails is all right, but most people will find themselves wanting to upgrade quickly if they find they like it; it's just too shabby looking.

The only thing I really had a problem with was the candle. Being in a BDSM beginner kit, I figured it would be good for beginners at wax play. I've used paraffin and soy candles before. They're a little hot, but the burn always fades quickly and there are no marks. Nothing on the box says anything about this candle other than it's a "Hot Wax Candle". I lit it up and had it drip from about 2' above my leg. After a single drop hit me, I had to blow it out and set it down. The burn hurt for hours afterward, and days later I still have a mark. I'm pretty sure it's going to scar as well.

If you're into wax play, great. I just suggest using a different candle, or at least testing this from a lot higher up. This candle would be good to just stick in a holder and use to set the mood.
    • Easy to put on / use
    • Holds up to use well

Care and Maintenance

None of this stuff is very hard to take care of. The ben-wa balls, butt-plug, and vibrator can all be cleaned with wipes or toy cleaners. The tie can go in the washing machine. Everything else can just be wiped down with a damp cloth. Just try not to get the feather tickler wet, as it will ruin the feathers.

You can keep everything stored in the box. I store all my toys in a toy box.

Personal comments

This set is pretty nice. Most of the items won't be used much by me, but that's only because I have much better versions of everything in the kit. I think of it as something someone can use and think, "Hey, I really liked this cat o' nine tails, but I'd like a better one," and just expand their collection like that.

This is wonderful for beginners, but someone more advanced in BDSM wouldn't really have much use for this. People who already know what they're into probably have more expensive and better versions of everything in this kit.
