Travel vibes Ipanema - discreet massager discontinued by Evolved Novelties - review by Eva Schwaltz

The Ipanema from Evolved is one of the vibrators from the travel vibes series. The vibrators in this line are small and discreet so you can take them anywhere with you. Some people may find it difficult to insert this, so using it as a clitoral vibrator might be better. If the shape works for you, then it would make for a nice G-spot toy.

There’s no flared base so you shouldn’t use this anally. It is waterproof, so feel free to take it in the shower or tub with you.

The Ipanema is made of plastic with a PU coat that gives it a slight drag. You can use silicone or water based lubricants to reduce the drag. It doesn’t pick up any lint or pet hair.

It has a pronounced curved head, and bumps all along the shaft. If you don’t like a lot of texture, then definitely stay away from this one. Plastic is a very hard material, and most likely you are going to feel every bump. Upon close inspection, there is a little seam that goes around the toy, but it is barely noticeable.

The Ipanema is 4 1/2" in length, with 2 3/4" insertable. The head is 4 1/4" in circumference, but the shaft is 3” in circumference.

I can’t insert this toy at all. I’ve used larger toys with no problems, but this shape does not work for me. The head is huge with no tapered tip to ease insertion.

It is operated by only one push button, located on the base, which takes you through the two vibration speeds. The vibrations are incredibly buzzy and make my skin feel itchy. I can’t imagine many people being able to use this for a while without their fingers going numb.

The toy is really quiet though. It will definitely not be heard through a closed door. It runs on one AA battery which is not included. Twist the base off and the battery goes in pointy side first.

Cleaning this vibrator is pretty simple. Warm water and antibacterial soap will do the trick.

It can be stored in its plastic case, or wherever is most convenient for you. You don’t have to worry about the material from this toy causing any bad reactions with other toys. Just be sure to take the battery out when this toy is not in use so it doesn’t drain or corrode.

The Ipanema comes in a plastic case which is very tastefully designed. It opens from the bottom. It works well for storage, but it is really just for show. There is a metal loop on the top for displaying it in a store shelf. I don’t think the case can withstand being opened and closed very often. The bottom cap requires a lot of strength to pull open and close shut, which is why I say that, but at least the toy won’t just fall out. The case is rather thin, and feels like it could just crack open in my hands. There are no instructions included with this toy, but you probably don’t need them anyway.

I wasn’t impressed with this toy at all. The head is way too wide, and it isn’t even long enough to reach my G-spot. Everyone’s tastes are different and this may end up being your favourite. Personally I find Evolved toys to be a hit or miss. I really love the Roulette line, which is an amazing line of vibrators from Evolved, but if you truly want something small and discreet, then just get a bullet or an egg.
