Sweet obsession Rapture - clitoral stimulator by Cal Exotics - review by Nora

The Sweet Obsession Rapture is most definitely a clitoral stimulator, as the design of it is shaped to focus the vibrations it produces through the tip of the toy. The entire unit measures 6 and a half inches in length, with 4 inches being soft silicone (the insertable portion) and the last few inches being hard plastic that contains the control buttons. This vibe is only 1 1/4 inches in diameter.

As for whom I think would enjoy this toy, from my experience, I would say both male and female if you use the scooped tip with its little “teeth” to tickle other areas of the body. This is not a toy that should be used anally though, it's skinny and mostly straight...so don't use it there! I did not get a chance to try my theory (of using it to tickle my partner) though due to a mechanical failure, which caused the toy to stop working about 30 minutes into "testing" it! If you share your toy, remember to use a condom with it! Due to the smaller size of the toy, I would recommend trying out the small sized toy covers (little condoms with no reservoir), but any condom will do.

Any occasion is a good occasion to pull this little toy out! If using it alone, you can select the pattern you want to use; it has 10 vibration speeds and patterns to choose from! If using with a partner, let them go crazy trying out the different patterns to see what works best for the both of you. The box claims it to be waterproof, and it did survive washing so I would wager that it is indeed safe to take in the shower if you choose to. I even used this while on the telephone and the caller, even on the highest setting, could not hear it!

I was unable to fully test how useful this toy is as an insertable (vaginal only) toy, as I mentioned, it stopped working shortly after I started using it. The tip is a cup shape with little "ticklers" filling the "cup".

As I mentioned above, the “user end” of the Rapture is soft silicone. It has a velvety feel to it making it seem even softer. Straight from the box, there were no odors, which was a pleasant surprise! At the tip of the Rapture, are tiny spikes, made from silicone as well so they are extremely soft. When turned on, they provide the “tickle” to your clit. I found the overall appearance of the tip of the Rapture to remind me of a little pink monster with a bunch of tiny teeth. It looks a little like an open mouth… I think anyone looking for a clitoral stimulator that does not pull double duty as an insertable toy would like the Rapture.

The battery pack for the rechargeable battery that was also included was simple hard plastic. It comes in three pieces and was easy to put together. Mine came with the “US adapter”, which is a two-pronged plug in for the wall. In the manual, it does show that there are also plug-in parts for Australia’s 3-prong design, European plugs, and UK plugs. The rest of the charging unit consists of the “travelling charger” and the battery plate. The battery plate is sized to hold an “N” sized battery and maybe slightly larger, but not a standard AA. The unit also came with the rechargeable “N” sized battery.

Personally, I liked the design of the Rapture. It is very simple, with just a slight curve near the top where it creates the little scoop that is filled with tiny, soft, spikes that are only a few millimeters tall. As with any adult toy, it did not come with a “how to use guide”, but it is self-explanatory.

I believe it worked wonderfully well as intended, with one major flaw! The design flaw is mechanical though and had nothing to do with the shape of the product. As for size, it is roughly the length of my hand (base of my palm to the tip of my middle finger) and about twice as big around as my thumb. This is a small toy, but I would consider it on the larger end of small. The Rapture is bright pink, so I do not consider it easy to hide, size wise though, you could toss it into a drawer and keep it out of site. I mentioned before that this is a quite vibrator, even on high, it is inaudible to someone on the telephone. With my partner on the other end, I held it up, on high, against the palm of my hand. He could not hear it until I pressed it against the phone and it rattled the phone.

Since the battery pack disassembles for travel, I would say this would be a great one to pack for trips. I choose not to take this type of thing on a plane, but if you do, just remember to take the battery out of it. The User Manual does caution that the signal can interfere with airplane instruments.

This clitoral stimulator has 10 vibration patterns to choose from. First off, I love that it starts on high! There is no need to fumble through the lower speeds! The single pulse felt like it was on the low setting and the high-low pulse was easy to figure out. The double pulse, which was two pulses on low then one on high and the triple pulse (same thing as before, but with a third pulse on low) were very nice. Finally, the last two patterns were a steeplechase and a low-high steeplechase. Both of these were hard to discern…I could not feel any difference either between them or between them and the regular “high” setting and finally, a strong pulse (same as the single pulse, but on high this time). I was disappointed in the steeplechase options; I was looking forward to those the most! It definitely fell flat on those patterns though.

The controls are located in the hard plastic base and consist of two simple buttons. The bottom button is an on/off switch and the top button scrolls through all of the different patterns. The on/off button also makes use of a memory chip, so if you have one setting that you prefer over the rest, it will pick up right where you left off!

While testing this product out, I planned to check the claims that the battery would last for 45 minutes on high or 1 hour on low settings, but never got the chance. I was horribly disappointed when, after 15-20 minutes of use, the toy seemed to drain the last bits of life from the battery and stop! I attributed this to my not letting it charge for the full 4 hours; I only charged it for three and a half. Therefore, I put the battery back in the charger and left it there over night. Cleanup was simple for the toy itself, I used my toy cleaner, rinsed and let it air dry. The next day I attempted to fully test this product again. This time it only ran for 5 minutes before dying! After looking over the entire thing inside and out, I believe the issue is the metal contacts in the end cap (the hard plastic with the controls in them). There are two contact wires that have warped so much that they do not connect anymore with what they should be connecting with. This was unfortunate; I really loved the toy up until it stopped working! I also did not get a chance to test how waterproof it really is. I did wash it prior to use the first time and the internal compartment was completely dry when I went to insert the battery. I assumed that meant the rubber O-ring preformed as intended and kept the water out.

Besides the varied functions of the toy, the rechargeable battery feature of the product was what really sold me on picking this one out.

I intended to store this toy in the packaging it came in to keep the battery pack pieces together and easy to find when needed. It comes in a sturdy cardboard box with a clear window so you can see the Rapture. Inside the box, there is a plastic sort of case. You lift the lid off and there are spaces for all three parts to the battery pack, a spot to store the battery in and a removable tray that holds the Rapture very snuggly, so no jostling can occur. There is warranty information on the cardboard portion, so I would suggest keeping it for at least the first year (length of warranty) as well as filling out the registration, which can be completed online in less than 5 minutes.

I did not choose to use lube with this product, but if you do, be aware that this is a silicone toy so it is best to avoid the silicone lubes and use a water-based lube with this toy. Keeping it in the clear plastic box also keeps your toy away from other toys that may cause damage. I had to learn that lesson the hard way and it is not cheap to replace a toy or toys that have mistakenly spent a few hours cuddled up together!

As this is silicone, it does drag or catch on bare skin quite a bit. It does have a "soft" almost silky feel to it, but it does catch and pull on skin when used without lubricant. I cannot imagine that this would attract much lint. For the short amount of time I did not have it sitting in the package, it did not pick anything up. However, since I only have had it actually out of the box for around 4 hours, it may pick up lint if left sitting without being covered. I keep most of my toys in their own separate bag or container to avoid lint and other hazards that could affect the products materials, so I do not usually have any issue with this.

I wish I could have spent more time with this product! In the short amount of time it actually worked, it was fast becoming a new favorite! Unfortunately, I didn't even get a chance to run it through all of the possible ways to use this product!
