The World didn't end but I came with The Rapture

The Rapture by CalExotics is a fantastic toy, lots of really awesome features and just as much power too. It would be a great toy for people who like a little texture and/or those wanting to experiment with texture on the clit. If you are looking for an easy to store, great to travel with clit toy, then The Rapture will have you ascending to the heavens.

Use

When California Exotics sought to name The Sweet Obsessions Rapture, they hit the nail on the end. The orgasms I've had with this have been rapturous to say the least.

The Rapture quickly rocketed to my top ten toy list, it's small, easy to store and it's rechargeable. What more could I want! Oh wait- It's powerful too! The Rapture is an amazing clit vibe, the spoon shaped scooped tip and the tiny little feelers tempt and tease deliciously. It has a semi flexible tip makes it perfect to give great pressure and soft enough to rub and grind without causing yourself any pain.

The Rapture is also great all over the body, the spoon end hugs thicker nipples perfectly and even though it's not a big or long toy by any means, the power that it puts out made even inserting it quite pleasurable.
Anal play however I wouldn't recommend for safety reasons like; the very real possibility of losing it inside you and being that it is a smaller toy, it could happen easily and quickly, plus the toy has a pronounced seam where the silicone and plastic meet and would be hard to clean properly.

The Rapture is overall a great toy, be it for solo use or with a partner. Teasing up a storm and coaxing amazing orgasms is all to easy for this little bit of heavenly bliss.

Material / Texture

The Rapture is made from two primary materials, the top half (the end that's designed to be used against the body) is silicone, the bottom half (the handle/battery compartment) is made from shiny plastic and the two are separated by a metal ring.
The super soft silicone of The Rapture has zero scent and/or taste, even when held right up to your nose and it's the same for the plastic. The metal band between the two has some dried glue residue that does have a very mild smell but nothing overwhelming.
The Raptures silicone is a soft matte, almost velvety type of silicone, that is flexible and yet firm in some places, unlike the plastic which is completely rigid and shiny. The shininess of the plastic can cause a few gripping problems, when you have slick fingers.
The silicone and the plastic of The Rapture are completely non porous, latex free, phthalates free, hypo-allergenic and food grade. Which makes them safe to share but given the seam around the toy, proper cleaning is difficult, so I would use a condom if you plan on sharing.

Design / Shape / Size

The toy starts of with a generously sized handle, which holds the batteries and has the two simple to use buttons, one for on/off and the other controls the power and patterns. After that there is a thin metallic ring and then the silicone part and the scooped/mouth shaped end. Inside the scoop you have lots of little tiny feelers that are made from the same silicone, now they look like they would cause a lot of texture but not so much that it's overwhelming. The motor in the toy is right up the end which is great because it means all the power is at the business end and it doesn't make your fingers go numb while playing. One other great feature is the dedicated on/off button, all toys needs a quick off button and although it is really close, maybe too close to the patterns button (I've hit it by accident and turned it off at a really bad time before) I think it's much better than having to cycle through the patterns to turn it off.

The design of The Rapture makes me giggle, really it does! The little scooped end with all the little fingers is quite flexible and if you squish it between your fingers, it looks just like a tiny little mouth with funky teeth. It was the first thing I noticed about the toy when it came out of the box and yes, I have made it speak too. As for the charger, yes it comes in three pieces and I'm not exactly sure why but it's pretty simple to to put together.

Seriously though, I really enjoy the shape and size of The Rapture. It's not a huge toy so it makes storage really easy, you can hide it pretty simply as well. It's fairly slim, only about 3 1/4" in circumference and 6 1/2" in length,so slipping into a small handbag of purse is easy too. I think it will tuck away in a suitcase really well and with the battery charger having the option of changing the connection, it really makes it perfect for travel.

Functions / Performance / Controls

Like I mentioned before, The Rapture has only 2 buttons, one fore on/off and the other switches through the strengths and patterns. Both buttons are located on the handle of the toy and are right next to each other.
The Rapture has 3 solid vibrations and 7 pulsing patterns which are far too hard to try and illustrate in a diagram so I'll try to explain them as best I can

1/ Steady strong vibration
2/ Steady medium vibration
3/ Steady low vibration
4/ Fast, stuttered and escalating vibrations in a looping pattern
5/ Rapid medium strength pulsing
6/ Rapid strong pulsing
7/ Extreme rapid strong pulsing
8/ Medium whirring pulsations
9/ Strong whirring pulsations
10/ Rapid low strength pulsing

If I could change one thing about The Rapture, it would be the spacing of the two buttons. The on/off button is easily pressed by mistake and can ruin the mood when you want to give yourself more power and accidentally turn it off.
I know The Rapture should be waterproof like they say but mine at least has some gaps in the glue around the seam and even though the battery compartment doesn't get any water in it, I'm not 100% sure that a little hasn't seeped in under the silicone.

Care and Maintenance

Cleaning this toy is a little trickier than I usually like, again the seam between to plastic and the silicone tends to catch fluids, especially if used internally. But other than having to pay some extra attention around the seam area The Rapture is pretty straight forward to clean and you have several options too. You can use a toy cleaner (like I do) You can use soap and water, 10% bleach solution and anti-bacterial hand wash too. Unfortunately because it is a powered toy boiling isn't recommended and will undoubtedly cause damage.

For storage I use the packaging that The Rapture came in and I find it more than enough to keep my toy safe and tidy. If you are lacking in space or just don't like to keep your gear in their boxes a lint free bag or a suitable box would work really well and I would definitely keep it in something rather than just sitting it on a shelf or tossing it in a drawer because like most silicone it loves lint and dust. And needless to say but water should not go anywhere near the battery or the charger.

As for lube, because it's silicone only water based lubes will be safe to use on The Rapture as silicone lubes can degrade the silicone on toys and damage them or make them unsafe to use.

Packaging

The Raptures packaging is pretty simple, a cardboard box containing; The Rapture, 3 piece charger and the battery all nestled neatly in a clear plastic tray with a clear plastic lid slipped over the top. The Rapture itself sits in another smaller tray inside the bigger one and I think they did this to make it easier to get The Rapture out because it can be tricky to pop it out without twisting the packaging around. Also included in the box is a nice big sheet of paper that has lots of instructions like; safety precautions, battery care and maintenance, cleaning and storage tips plus more.

The outside of the box is far from discreet and although it has no nudity, there is no denying what the toy is for. The front of the box has a woman in a white shirt and in big purple and pink font the name of the toy, it also lists some of the features and has a nice big clear panel that you can see your lovely new toy through. The sides of the box have on one side an almost life size picture of The Rapture and the other a simple photographic diagram of the charger and how it goes together plus some info about the device. The back has another picture of the toy and lots of info about its features and materials.

Follow-up commentary
I still absolutely love my Rapture, it's a such a great toy and gives perfect clit stimulation. I know some people who have toys in the same line with the rechargeable battery have had a lot of problems with it but mine has been perfect from day one, strong, reliable and holds charge for 1.5 hours or more.
