It’s rabbit season!

The Lia Bounding Bunny by California Exotics is a discreet clitoral vibrator. It’s designed to allow the user to enjoy the same tickling, fluttery stimulation that many rabbit style vibrators offer. The Lia, however, isn’t limited to clitoral stimulation. It is a great teaser vibe that can be used on any erogenous zone of partners of any gender: nipples, testicles, penis shaft, perineum, external anal area; no erogenous zone is off limits!

The Lia is not designed for insertion and may or may not couple well with penetrative play, depending on how the user prefers to use it. Its small size and discreet design make it ideal for solo fun on the go, or with a partner. Safe for both shower and tub use, there is almost no place this Bounding Bunny can’t go!

The majority of the Lia is made of food-grade and body-safe silicone, with a safety rating of 10 here at Eden. The screw-on battery cap and power button are both made of plastic, with a velvet cote over it. Plastic has a safety rating of 8 here at Eden, making this toy a great choice for anyone concerned with having high-quality, hypoallergenic materials. The Lia is phthalates free, latex free and completely non-porous.

Both the body and the handle of the Lia are smooth. The silicone does have a bit of drag, and does collect a bit of stray fuzz, lint and hair. If this is bothersome, a quick rinse before use will clean it off completely. There is a barely visible seam going up and down the middle of the toy, but this is not noticeable during use.

Lia is a small, slender toy with a very basic design. It is reminiscent of a standard bullet vibe, but the tip of the toy is by no means standard. The tip has two bunny ears that are very soft and flexible.

This toy is controlled by one push button on the base. A brief, firm push of the button turns the toy on. With continued pressing of the button you can cycle through all of Lia’s 10 settings. I use the Je Joue MiMi to standardize my vroom and bee ratings. While comparing the power of the Lia to the MiMi, keep in mind that the Lia is much buzzier than the MiMi. The settings of the Lia are as follows:

1 – High, steady vibration – 3 vrooms, 2 bees – comparable to MiMi on level 3
2 – Medium, steady vibration – 2 vrooms, 2 bees – comparable to MiMi on level 2
3 – Low, steady vibration – 1 vroom, 1 bee – comparable to MiMi on level 1
4 – Fast revving, low to high, one full cycle lasts 1 second – 3 vrooms, 2 bees
5 – Medium power pulses, 4 per second – 2 vrooms, 2 bees
6 – Full power pulses, 3 per second – 3 vrooms, 2 bees
7 – Full power pulses, 6 per second – 3 vrooms, 2 bees
8 – Medium power pulses, 5 per second – 2 vrooms, 2 bees
9 – Full power pulses, 3 per second – 3 vrooms, 2 bees
10 – Low power pulses, 6 per second – 1 vroom, 1 bee

Some of the patterns do appear to be nearly identical to each other. So while Lia does have 10 settings, only about 8 of them are truly unique. Once you reach setting 10, another push of the button will cycle you back to 1. You can’t go back if you accidentally skip the setting you want, you’ll have to cycle through all the settings again to get back to it.

To turn the Bounding Bunny off, press and hold the power button for about 1.5 seconds. When you turn the Lia back on again, it will start on the setting right after the one you ended on during your previous session. That doesn’t make sense to me, but it’s the way it works.

Lia has a ring around the power button that lights up, so you can easily spot the controls in the dark. It also flashes in synch with the pattern you’re on, so you can tell which setting the toy is on just by looking.

The vibrations are strongest in the tip of the toy, in the nose and ears of the bunny, but can be felt throughout its entire length. If used for extended periods of time, you may get itchy, tingly, or numb fingers from holding it.

Lia runs on 1 AA battery, and comes with some basic care and safety information.




To clean your Lia Bounding Bunny, wash it thoroughly with warm water and your favorite soap or toy cleaner. Be sure to clean around and between the flexible ears, and to clean around all the bulbed sections. Since Lia is waterproof (thanks to a sturdy o-ring), it can be completely submerged for bleaching, if you want to sanitize it for sharing or just to keep it squeaky clean. To sanitize your Lia in bleach, use a 10% bleach solution with 10 parts water to 1 part bleach. Do not boil Lia or send it through the dishwasher, because the heat may damage its motor.

Lia’s compact size and high-quality material make it very easy to store. For storage, remove the battery, and put your Lia in a cool, dark place. You can keep your Lia in a toy pouch, in an old sock, the leg of an old pair of tights or pantyhose, in a plastic bag, wrapped in a handkerchief, a towel, or simply store it in a drawer or toy box. It can safely be stored alongside other inert materials, such as glass, wood, stainless steel or 100% food grade silicone.

It is safe to use water- or oil-based lubricants with your Bounding Bunny. If you have a silicone-based or hybrid lube that you want to use, do a small spot check on it first to check for a reaction.

*The Good

My first several sex toys were rabbits, so I have a bit of a fondness for those tickly ears. The ears on the Lia are perfect for surrounding sensitive erogenous zones in stimulation. You can slide a nipple or a clit (or any other body part) between them and get some very unique and fun sensations. My favorite way to use the Lia is to press the nose of the bunny against the head of the clit, and then allow Lia’s ears to go up and around; surrounding and tickling the rest of the clit that’s right underneath the skin. That really allows for maximum clitoral stimulation of both the visible and the not visible parts of the clitoris. While not the most powerful clitoral stimulator on the market, the design does allow for most of the clitoris to be stimulated, and this makes the stimulation feel a bit more intense.

The push button control on the base of the Lia is extremely easy to use, but is not easy to bump during use. Since it uses normal batteries, it’s easy to keep the Lia ready for action. Being waterproof, this toy is also safe for play in the shower, tub or pool. This gives Lia a lot of versatility.

Since Lia is silicone it is totally safe and hygienic. It can be used to stimulate the external anal area, which can be a great way to begin to introduce anal play. Lia will be gentle and unobtrusive for those new to external anal exploration, just remember not to insert it. The little ears can be used for very light stimulation, or the nose can be pressed against the skin for a bit more stimulation. Lia can provide the best of both worlds for beginners.


*The Not As Good

Lia really is not a powerhouse, and it is buzzy. This means it really won’t work for most people. I prefer a clitoral stimulator with at least 4 vrooms, so the Lia is really more of a teaser toy for me.

Its design makes it nearly impossible for me to use the Lia for dual stimulation (with a penetrative toy or during sex). To use it the way I like, it needs to come up from underneath, rather than coming down from above. This means it’s very difficult for me to use it by myself the way I like it, but a partner can use it the way I like with no problem. When used in my preferred fashion, however, the body of the toy is blocking all access to the rest of the vaginal area. This makes it difficult to use during oral too.

Both those reasons make the Lia awkward and difficult for me to use effectively as a clitoral toy.
