It Won't Blast You Off (But You May Get Into Orbit)

The Bottle Rockets Apollo is a pretty and compact vibrator that works better as a clitoral stimulator than vaginally due to its small size. It uses one AA battery which provides moderate vibrations up and down the length of the toy. Apollo has only one speed and an easy-to-use push button on its base that can be turned off accidentally. While it won’t send you blasting off into orgasmic bliss, it will likely put a smile on your face.

The Bottle Rockets Apollo from Evolved comes in some of the cutest packaging ever – a miniature clear plastic bottle. The bottle is about 5 ½” high, and comes complete with a beer-bottle cap. The Apollo rests inside the bottle, and can be removed by unscrewing the bottle’s base. Inside the base, a clear insert in the base allows the Apollo to rest and stand upright. The bottle is great for storing Apollo when he’s not in use.

Apollo is very compact. He measures 4 1/2" total from top to bottom, with 3 1/4" insertable. He is about 7/8” in diameter at his widest and very sleek. His tip is somewhat pointed, and he narrows in the middle of his shaft before widening out again before the base.

This vibrator comes in 2 colors: pink and black, and is made of ABS plastic. The plastic is not hard; rather, it has a silky, velvety feel to it and a matte look, reminiscent of some silicone dildos and vibrators.

Plastic is body safe, phthalates-free, and non-porous. It cannot be sterilized, so a condom should be used if you plan to share. Apollo can be cleaned by washing him with antibacterial soap and hot water, or he can be wiped down with a toy cleaner or alcohol. Water-based, oil, and silicone lubes are all safe to use.

Apollo’s base is shiny plastic in the same color as his body. The base is separated from the rest of the vibrator by a silver band, and the Evolved product name appears on the base. The base easily unscrews so 1 AA battery can be inserted (a battery is not included). The battery slides in easily and is not difficult to remove for changing. Depending on the battery used, Apollo can run for upwards of 30 minutes without noticeably losing power.

Apollo has 1 speed. The control for Apollo is on the very bottom of the base, which is curved down to a point. The button pushes easily to turn him on or off. Apollo doesn’t have earthshaking vibrations with just 1 battery, but the vibrations seem a bit stronger than some toys that use 1 watch or N battery, and replacement batteries will typically be lying around the house. Apollo is relatively quiet as well – about as loud as a cell phone set to vibrate when used externally. When inserted, he can hardly be heard at all.

With the easy-to-press button on the base bottom, Apollo is easy to turn off accidentally if thrusting with him or gripping him by the base. Also, because of his dimensions, he is a bit small for good internal stimulation and works better for clitoral and labial stimulation. While he is a good size for anal, Apollo should never try to find Uranus since he does not have a flared base and he could easily be sucked in.

Apollo is waterproof, so he can safely be used in the shower and bath. The base should be securely tightened to ensure water does not enter the battery compartment.
Follow-up commentary
The Bottle Rocket has to have the cutest packaging ever (and I love how it can be stored in the bottle). I also like how it uses a battery that I have laying around the house instead of a watch battery or other odd size that I don't.

I like this toy occasionally as a warm-up toy before switching to something else. It doesn't have enough power to give me a clitoral orgasm, and its too short for me to use internally, but it is fun to use in the shower as a bit of foreplay (and I do love my waterproof toys and foreplay).

Bisexual in disguise - there's nothing quite like basic black, I think.

Over time does the battery compartment seem to not hold the battery quite in place? I have a little vibe that is being rather infuriating... The vibration is really powerful, then the battery moves and plays dead. I just don't want something new to have the same problem.

Damn, I loved my version. It had nice ribs though that helped make up for power.
