L'Amour? More like L'Less!

The Passion G is one of CalEx’s luxury vibrators. Made of high quality silicone and plastic, waterproof and easy to care for; this toy could make a fantastic first toy for anyone. It could also be a fine addition to anyone’s toy collection. The G is best suited for those who prefer smooth toys with no texture, and those who like rumblier motors but still don’t need a lot of power.

What is this?

The L’amour Silicone Passion G is a silicone and plastic vibrator. It is designed for penetrative use (and g-spot stimulation in particular), but can also be used externally to stimulate the clitoris, nipples, and any other erogenous zone.

Silicone has a safety rating of 10 here at Eden because it’s non-porous and easy to sanitize. The plastic on the handle receives a safety rating of 8 here at Eden, and is also non-porous and easy to sanitize. This toy is completely safe to use due to these high-grade materials. The silicone does attract a bit of fuzz, lint and hair, but a quick rinse before use takes care of that.

The Passion G is completely smooth except for a few very faint swirly marks on the front and sides of the shaft. These slight swirls are not felt during use.

Size & Shape

The measurements of my Passion G are as follows:

Total length: 8.5”
Insertable length: 6”
Handle length: 1.75”
Circumference at widest part: 5”
Diameter at widest part: 1.6”

The head of the Passion G is fairly blunt instead of tapered. The head is the widest part, and the shaft tapers down to about 4.5” in diameter in the middle, and then back out to 5” at the base. The head and base of the shaft are both solid silicone, while the middle of the shaft is hollow to accommodate the motor. This makes the middle of the shaft very flexible.

The shaft itself is completely straight, with just the head being set at an angle to reach your g-spot. The angle of the head is so slight that it will not work for users who need an extreme curve in their g-spot toy.

Controls & Functions

The plastic handle on the Passion G is very short, and the control buttons are set on a slight angle. There are two buttons; one turns the power on and off, and the other lets you cycle through the settings. Push the power button once to turn the toy on. To start the vibrations once the toy is on, push the squiggly line button. Push that same button to scroll through all 7 of the settings. This toy vibrates almost exactly like the Je Joue MiMi. It has the same amount of rumble, and the vibrations feel identical in my hand. For that reason, I’ll compare each setting to the MiMi’s settings.

The settings are as follows:

1 – Low, steady vibrations (1.5 vrooms, 1 bee – comparable to MiMi between levels 1 & 2)
2 – Medium, steady vibrations (2 vrooms, 1.5 bees – comparable to MiMi on level 2)
3 – High, steady vibrations (3 vrooms, 2 bees – comparable to MiMi on level 3)
4 – Slow, escalating vibrations starting at the lowest power level and ending on the highest – each escalation cycle lasts about 3.5 seconds and then starts over (1-3 vrooms, 2.5 bees)
5 – Pulses of high vibrations, about 4 pulses per second (3 vrooms, 2.5 bees)
6 – Faster pulses of high vibrations, still about 4 pulses per second (3 vrooms, 2.5 bees)
7 – 3 fast pulses followed by 1 long pulse of high vibrations – each cycle lasts about 3 seconds (3 vrooms, 2.5 bees)

You can only scroll up through the patterns, once you’re at level 7 it will return to level 1. If you pass the setting you want, turn the toy off and start back at 1, or scroll through all 7 settings and start back at 1.

The motor is located in the tip of the head, and the vibrations are most easily felt there. They are felt somewhat down the rest of the shaft, but not so much in the handle. This is not a toy that made my hand numb when I was holding the handle properly.

The Passion G is completely waterproof and runs on 2 AA batteries.
Experience
Care & Maintenance

Only use the Passion G with water-based lubricants. If you want to use a favorite silicone-based or hybrid lube, be sure to do a small spot test somewhere inconspicuous first to check for a reaction.

Remove the batteries for storage, and be sure to store it out of direct heat and sunlight. Do not store this toy where it will be in contact with other toys made of compound materials like jelly, TPR, TPE, PVC, etc. I like to slip this toy in an old tube sock for storage, because it’s a perfectly made toy pouch!

The Passion G is easy to clean since it doesn’t have any nooks and crannies for grime to hide in. Just wash it with soap and warm water after use. To sanitize this toy, wipe it down with a dilute bleach solution (10 parts water to 1 part bleach). Do not boil this toy or put it in the dishwasher because the high heat will damage the motorized components.

Experience

While this toy is nicely made of high quality materials, it didn’t work for me so I didn’t like it. Here’s why:

#1 – It just isn’t that powerful. This toy is the rumbliest toy I’ve ever used from CalEx, and it’s pretty rumbly compared to most other toys that run on 2 AA batteries. Even with the rumble, it still lacks power. Maxing out at 3 vrooms, even 3 rumbly vrooms, just doesn’t do it for me. I'm a 4 vroom kind of girl!

#2 – It’s too short. While the shaft of the toy will be long enough to reach even the deepest of g-spots, the handle is extremely short. It was nearly impossible for me to thrust with this toy due to the short handle. It was hard to hold onto, I couldn’t get the leverage I wanted and needed and I had to keep changing the angle and position I was holding the Passion G because my arm kept getting tired of the awkward angle. The controls are also set at a very odd angle, and it was nearly impossible for me to find and adjust the controls while the toy was in use.

#3 – It isn’t Colette. This toy is missing everything I love about Colette. Colette has more of a curve, a much longer handle, 3 motors instead of one, and more power. Colette’s lowest setting starts at 3 vrooms, which is the highest setting for the Passion G.
