Harmony yin - bullet discontinued by Doc Johnson - review by foxinlace

The Yin from Doc Johnson's Harmony line is a real powerhouse in a little bullet! It has three settings that can be activated by pushing the soft rubber bottom of the bullet. There are no patterns, just low/medium/high buzzing. I found that strength-wise, the "low" was near the higher end of some of my other vibes, so if you are looking for power this is a good place to start. It is waterproof, made of ABS plastic and phthalate-free. Bullets are made primarily for external use (clit, nipples, vulva, perineum, belly buttons...whatever you like) but the Yin is about 2-2.5" insertable if you are interested in some light teasing. I would not recommend this at all for anal, as it has no stopper and the plastic is rather slippery.

I didn't really notice any smell or taste to it. It's glossy black plastic, very hard, with no give at all to it. I'd say this is more of a beginner toy, but only if the beginner in question was looking for strong vibrations and didn't mind a little buzz. There's no texture to speak of, which makes it pretty basic and non-threatening.

I liked that the design of this was somewhat curvy, more like a bowling pin than just a straight bullet. I think this helps the product fit more women's bodies. I personally like pressure along with my vibrations, and the curve of this toy allowed me to fit it close to my body without having to press too hard. It's a slim, small, fairly discreet bullet, but I liked that it still has a little insertable length - not much at all, but it's nice to be able to tease and get warmed up for something bigger. Due to the size and awesome carrying case, it is both easy to hide and great for travel. The case is sturdy enough that it won't turn on when it's in it, no matter how much you rattle it around.

The single AAA battery in this toy means that the vibrations are located particularly in the tip of the bullet, although as I mentioned above, this thing packs a punch and really the vibrations travel well throughout the toy. It is quite buzzy though, so those who like their toys quiet and soft probably won't want to invest in this one. It is simple and basic but it gets the job done. The button at the bottom is easy to press - press once and it turns on the "low", a second time puts it to "medium", the third to "high", and a fourth press will turn it off. I took it in the shower once just to try it out and it seemed to do well there.

Since it is waterproof, this toy is very easy to care for. I use soap and water or some form of toy cleaner or wipe. I keep it in the awesome matte container it came in. It shouldn't react poorly with any lubes, but I tend to stick with water-based. It's very glossy though, so you may not need any at all.

Packaging for this was very basic plastic. Inside the initial plastic there is a case for the toy and the toy itself. The case is matte black plastic with the yin/yang symbol at the bottom (it is upside-down for this product, perhaps it is the right way for the corresponding yang version. I do not have the Yang, but it appears to be identical to the Yin, only white. The front of the box says "Harmony: find your erotic center" as well as "discreet multi-speed massager" and "waterproof / phthalate free".

The other side says "insert this way" with an arrow to help you remember which way the battery should be inserted. Before popping the battery into the white case, there is a diagram on the interior to show you which end goes where. The bullet will run with or without the white battery case, and so long as you insert the battery the right way into the toy it doesn't matter if it matches up with the diagram. I accidentally put the battery into the white case backwards but it worked anyway.

I was in the market for an affordable bullet just to round out my toy box and this caught my eye for its sleek look and versatility.

This is so strong that it does make my hand a little numb at first. I use it as a warm-up toy. It took me a long time to orgasm from this, and the noise is a bit of a turn off. While I didn't find it that pleasurable, this thing gets me wetter faster than pretty much any of my other toys. I'm not sure exactly why this is, but I'm not questioning it. I'm glad to have some use for it, even if it doesn't easily get me off! I prefer deeper, more rumbly vibrations and this one had a bit too much "yang" energy (loud, higher pitched buzz, etc) for me. I would have given it 3.5 stars if I could, because it isn't a bad product but it just doesn't perform as well as I'd like.
