The Precious is a part of California Exotics' new Petite Couture Collection, the smaller version of their fairly new Couture line. Both the Petite Couture and Couture lines feature 100% silicone, waterproof vibrators. The Petite vibrators are ideal for beginners or those who shy away from toys with a lot of girth.

The Precious can be used for clitoral or vaginal stimulation, but should not be used anally due to its lack of a flared base.

The shaft of the Precious is constructed out of 100% silicone, while the base is made of plastic. The silicone has a matte finish and velvety texture, giving the vibrator a slightly lifelike drag while used during thrusting. Other than the small ridges on the sides, the Precious is not textured.

Like other silicone toys, the material of the Precious picks up lint, dust, dirt, or cat hair just as soon as you set it down. Since the vibe is waterproof, this problem is easily rectified by running the Precious under warm water and washing with an antibacterial soap.

At 7" long (5" insertable) and 1" in diameter, the Precious is a moderate/small sized vibrator. It features a sleek shaft, with a small ridge along each side. I didn't particularly feel the ridges during use, but they do fan out towards the tip, creating a pointed end to the shaft.

The bullet is located in the tip of the vibrator. Right in the middle of the shaft, between the bullet and the control panel / battery compartment, the silicone has a lot of give and feels rather squishy. The shaft is flexible and will bend, but not is not floppy and does not bend out of shape on its own.

The Precious is a seven function vibrator, powered by two AAA batteries. There is a small cap housed on the bottom of the base, which twists off to reveal the battery compartment. There is a + and - sign above where each battery goes, marking which end of the battery should be facing up.

The base houses two buttons; the on/off button and the button that controls the vibration setting. The buttons are backlit by a red light, making controlling the Precious in the dark a snap. The vibration levels cycle through with a push of the control button. The first three settings are constant vibration (low, medium, and high), and the last four settings are distinct vibration patterns (rolling, medium pulse, fast pulse, and short-short-short-long). (Note: when the power button is first pressed the red light turns on, but there is no vibration. To start vibrations, simply press the control button.)

The vibrations range from light to moderately strong and buzzy. The Precious is surprisingly quiet, with the highest setting no louder than a cell phone. It would be inaudible behind a closed door, and possibly even under a blanket.

Since the Precious is constructed out of silicone, it is not compatible with silicone-based lubricants. Toy wipes or sprays can be used to clean the vibrator, as well as good old-fashioned soap and water. Since silicone is non-porous, it can be sterilized. Please do not ruin your Precious by boiling it or washing it in the dishwasher, leaving you with the only other option of wiping it with a 10% bleach solution.

The Precious came packaged in a white box with an image of it and a stream of water adorning the front. "Couture" on the front of the box is textured, as well as bubbles in the water and the waterproof symbol. One side of the box list short tidbits about the product, such as "Designed for power & performance" and Seamless, sophisticated, and unscented". The back of the box shows a different angle of the Precious, as well as some information about the toy.

Upon opening the box, you will find the Precious wrapped in a foam-like bag. There is no manual or instruction sheet included, although I'm not sure anybody would need one.
