Not Amused.

The Muse is cute, I'll definitely give it that. For me though, it's more of a fail than a win. The vibrations are very buzzy and a bit on the weak side, and the ears aren't flexible or big enough to actually "sandwich" my clit easily. The toy is best used by those who prefer pinpoint stimulation and weaker vibrations, and that someone just isn't me.

Use

I have strange taste in vibrators, I admit it! The Muse is adorable and sickeningly sweet, so I knew that I had to have it from the moment I saw it. Unfortunately, I am not amused with my Muse. More on that later.

The toy is an external vibrator, and he is also completely waterproof. You can use him without worry whether you're in the shower or bath. I also really loved that he is rechargable, because I never have enough batteries as it is (and yes, I do have a bunch of rechargables).

The Muse is simple to operate, and I think it would be most excellent for anyone who enjoys external vibration, either alone or with a partner. You are just going to want to make sure he's built for your anatomy before you plunk down the money for him. He's definitely expensive, and I was a bit let down, personally.

Material / Texture

The Muse is made from two body safe materials: silicone, and ABS plastic. Neither of these are porous, which makes me feel a lot safer when I use him. The silicone part of the toy (oddly) has a slight factory smell to it, but I only notice it now that I'm doing the review, and deliberately smelled the toy. It isn't something you notice fresh from the package or anything like that. There's no scent to the plastic part of the toy.

The base of the toy (where the plastic is) is completely smooth and free from textures, though you can feel the small "lip" where the toy flashes blue. The rest of the toy is smooth and seamless with exception of his eyes, which are small silicone circles. This does make them easy to feel for when you're playing with it, but I never actually felt them, or the lip when I was playing with the toy.

The silicone ears of the toy are flexible. They are more flexible sideways than they are forwards and backwards, but this does make it a bit easier to get the toy into the position you want it in while you're playing with it.

Design / Shape / Size

Aesthetically, I really do like the way the toy looks. In use, I'm honestly a bit less of a fan. The base of the toy is very heavy, which looks like it will be a lot of fun.. Until you realize that the vibrations don't go to the toy's base.

I thought that, similar to the Form 2, by Jimmy Jane, you could use the ears as a way to cradle the clit. That didn't work out well for me either, because the toy is so small. I find that the most comfortable way to hold the toy is with the huge base in my hands, and then to aim the ears at my clit. (Please see video for a demo) Unfortunately, while this is comfortable in my hands, it leaves the ears available for mainly pinpoint stimulation.

I do not like pin point stimulation, thus, the toy was mostly a bust for me. I don't think the toy is terrible, but I think it is just designed for someone who prefers different stimulation than I do.

The toy itself is 3.5" tall, and about 6.25" in circumference. The flexible little ears are about an inch and a half long. This is a teeny tiny little bunny wabbit. Because it is so small, you could definitely travel with it, and most people will probably have no clue what it is. I recommend charging it before you go on your trip though, because bringing all the cables would be a pain in the butt, I think, and make the toy a bit less travel-able. (Who wants to keep track of electronic cords and pieces on a trip?)

Functions / Performance / Controls

The Muse has ten functions, all which can be chosen from poking the poor little guy in the eye. Push either side of the bunny for him to cycle through his functions, and hold down the left eye for two seconds when you're done. I found that the toy was very easy to operate regardless of whether or not I was using him.

When I got him, he arrived pre-charged. After a week of use, I haven't found that the actual vibrations have diminished at all, so I haven't needed to re-charge him. I'll make sure to let you all know in the follow up review how recharging the toy goes.. If he requires it! I have gotten about an hour of actual play time out of him so far, and as I said, he shows no signs of draining, so we will see how long it takes to drain him.

The Muse has two motors located in the ears. If you love pinpoint stimulation, or, if you manage to get this to work around a clit (for example), you might really like this. I prefer more diffuse stimulation, so I was a little disappointed when I found out the vibrations don't travel well at all. They are also pretty low on the power scale, so I have a hard time getting the toy to work for me regardless. I will say though, that he is very quiet for a toy. There's no way anyone will hear you outside of a room with the door closed, but they will probably pick up the noise if they are in the same room with you.

Care and Maintenance

The packaging says to use liquid soap and water to clean the Muse, but I've used bar soap with no problems. You could also use a toy cleaner. I just get my hands really sudsy, and then scrub the toy all over. Since the Muse is completely waterproof, you really don't need to worry about where you're splashing water around, which is nice.

Make sure to only use water based lubes with the Muse, since the toy contains silicone.

Packaging

The toy has a lovely padded box that comes with it which you could definitely use to store the toy if you like. However, it would be more discreet to just leave the toy out on a desk or something. I know that doesn't sound intuitive, but the box has a window in it, and the words "massager" all over it. If the Muse were sitting around on your desk, no one would likely know what it is unless they picked it up and also pressed its eyes. A vibrating figurine? Most people will put two and two together there. However, at a glance this toy looks more like a Weeble than a sex toy. (Because it wobbles, though it does fall down!) Don't forget that the base of the toy is round, so the Muse will wobble a bit on whatever hard surface you leave it on. I think this is a cute touch though.

My biggest peeve with the toy? It comes with absolutely no instructions! I really think it should come with even just a small leaflet telling you how to charge it. It took my husband and me a bit of work to figure out that the charging port is in the back of the toy. It is covered by a small silicone film, so you have to look closely to see it. At least we know where it is for when the time comes to charge it up!

Personal comments

I know that the Muse is supposed to be a bunny.. But it sort of reminds me of a Totoro! Granted, Totoro never looked this angry, but it is cute all the same.

Experience

I know that the toy's eyebrows are supposed to light up when the toy is at its most intense (which would be a neat feature!), but mine didn't. The eyebrows do light up, but even on the lowest setting (which is a steady low vibration) the Muse's eyebrows would go on and off without rhyme or reason. Maybe my Muse is more tempermental than others. It still makes him look adorable, and I don't think that the eyebrows detract from the toy in any way.
Follow-up commentary
I'm sorry, Muse.. But I am still not amused. I have charged this since getting it, and it still is just incredibly weak and won't get me where I want to go. I admit that there could be a chance that I just got a bad one, but either way, I'm not in love. It's too bad though, because this one is just so cute!

Nice review. I was wanting to get this, but seeing how it isn't very strong, I don't think so.
