Jaws with chain - clamps by PHS International - review by squire

These nipple clamps, or as I like to call them "pinchers of power", put up a strong performance for an entry level player of nipple play such as myself. These clamps have a compression system to open the clamps that is made of metal while the clamp themselves are coated in what appears to be rubber. When releasing the grip of the clamps, some force is required. For those with medical issues with their hands, such as arthritis, you might find opening these a bit challenging. With that being said, the force required to open these clamps also reflect how well they can grip onto nipples without falling off. Being new to nipple play, I found that I require more of my nipple to fit into the clamp to spread the pressure, so I could decrease the level of pain, which these clamps accommodated nicely. By firmly holding on, I found that I didn't have to worry about the clamps slowly pulling off to the point where they were just clamping on the tips of my nipples which would not keep me in a sexual frame of mind.

I can see these working for beginner and novices but less so for those with a great deal of experience. Given that these are somewhat entry level clamps, there isn't a way to adjust their grip, other than what I mentioned above, and the materials are basic but functional. The chain is the heaviest part of this toy, and also provides a great deal of versatility for those feeling creative. Though the clamps are limited by their one-grip-fits-all function, I found that the chain was strong enough to add weights to it, like small padlocks or other smaller and less obtrusive objects, which could increase the pressure on the nipples. The jaws have nibs on them, rather than being flat, which adds to the gripping power as well as the pain level. With that grip, and the sturdiness of the chain, I think one could get away with adding 1/2 pounds to a pound of weight to the chain before compromising the grip becomes an issue.

With the strength of the grip I found myself too timid to fully explore the applications of this toy with other parts of my body, but I can imagine it to be quite effective for CBT and more genital related play for those with the pain threshold to add these bad boys.

These nipple clamps are made from highly safe metal, are low-porous/phthalate-free, and have a dull finish to them. The chain is actually the shiniest part of this toy, but it is also where a great deal of hands on play would occur. Metal toys are dishwasher safe, boilable, or can be bleached with a 10% solution. Since the jaw tips are rubber, my preference is to use antibacterial soap and warm water, making sure to dry to prevent corrosion. Any kind of lube can mix with this toy as there is no silicone in it!

The body of these clamps are metal and smooth, but the tips have a textured nib coating adding to the fun and the pain that can be experienced when these are pulled or pressed harder. I personally enjoy the texture and the finish as these clamps are a simple toy that is functional, smooth yet with some added subtle texture that adds some spice!

I must say that the design of these clamps is pretty but somewhat large. These are considered
clover clamps or butterfly clamps that are made to increase tension if pulled. Spring tension holds the clamp in place, and when pulled, it makes the jaws hold on more firmly/with a heightened degree of pain if desired. Though the chain isn't made of the highest quality metal, and it's rather light weight, the grip of the clamps and the strength of the 12" long chain allow for weights to be added, within reason, to add to the useability of this toy for those who seek a higher degree of challenge.

There is no adjusting of these clamps, as can be found in other higher-end clamps, but the jaws of these clamps are wide enough to allow more tissue than just the nipple tip to be gripped, which I preferred, and allows for better pain management depending on preference. This set is easy to wear, though the clover parts of the toy are large (2 1/2" in length) they are also narrow allowing for less conspicuous wear under clothing if desired. They are firm and semi-ridged to open, so might require a stronger hand to open, but can be easily put on or taken off when needed.

Packaging for these clamps was nice but not functional for storage in any real way. The packaging was a clam-shell style to hang on the wall but actually displayed the product very well. On the front, the clamps were displayed cleanly and sharply. On the back there was a minimal amount of writing about the function of the toy but did show the range of toys/clamps sold by PHS International so that was nice. If I were to be someone who learned from this toy that I loved nipple play, seeing a picture of the whole line and all the different levels of quality available would be a nice touch to get me to buy more.

For storage, I just keep these guys in my box with other toys. With the materials being metal, I don't really worry about em interacting with other toys in a negative way. I do, however, try to keep them away from my glass toys as there is the slight potential for chipping of glass.

I am really happy I got these pinchers of power as they do the trick for a newbie to nipple play like me. The pads are soft yet grip really well, I can decrease the pain by adding more nipple in the clamp, and they are easy to throw around and take with me on vacation. For the relatively cheap price and for how sturdy they are for entry level clamps, I think these are one of those essential toys to have to spice things up. You might not use them every day, but they will make you smile when you're ready to play!
