Riding the wave

The tidal wave is a good toy with very strong vibrations. It is realistically sized and shaped with a little extra texture from the rings. This one is also waterproof making it great for playing in the tub or shower.

I had been considering purchasing the Tidal Wave Jelly Dong for a while before I decided to purchase it. It appealed to me because it was a g-spot vibe, flexible jelly, and was waterproof. I have now had this is in my collection for a few weeks and it has proved to be a unique and fun addition. At $24, it is a good value for a waterproof toy.

The color of the this toy is a little paler than it appears on line. It is a very light powder blue. It has a pearly sheen to it that is in a slight swirling pattern. This is a nice color concept that fits with the name of the toy. There is a light scent to the toy. It is an improvement over regular jelly and has almost a clean, soap scent to it.

This toy was a little smaller than I was expecting when it arrived. The testicular base is 2 1/2 inches, not any of the insertable shaft. The head is about an inch and a half wide and gradually tapers larger as it nears the base. Even at the end of the shaft the toy is less than 2 inches. This large base does make using this toy for anal play an option, if you wanted to. I did not choose to use this toy for anal sex.

I will say that I think the design of this vibrator is a little odd but more like a real penis than the other toys I have seen. The head is positioned on the shaft crookedly. The balls are not symmetrical. The left one is smaller than the right one and is not as round. Where the head joins the shaft there is a very deep indention that goes all the way around the bottom of the head. This can be felt during penetration and is quite pleasurable. Farther down on the shaft there is light veining that runs under the rings. The rings are raised nicely and work to provide extra sensation and fullness when thrusting. I can say that minus the five rings on the shaft the toy is extremely realistic, from the texture, shaping, size, and imperfections this toy is very similar to the real thing.

With this being a jelly toy that is not phthalates free it needs to be used with a condom every time for your own protection and it is highly recommended to use a condom if this toy is ever to be shared. It is waterproof so it can be submerged in the sink and be washed with warm water and mild soap or toy cleaner. This toy is terrible about picking up lint and hair so it needs to be washed before use too. Since it is jelly I was expecting this toy to be super flexible but it is not. The shaft is very hard with only the head being flexible. This does make penetration much easier than with toys that are softer. It feels like a hard plastic shaft that is coated in a layer of jelly. Lacking flexibility in the center of the toy can complicate reaching the g-spot even with the curve of the toy.

The vibrations of the toy vary from mild to extremely strong. The vibrations are controlled by a dial on a knob that protrudes about an inch from the base of the toy. I find that the knob is cumbersome and in the way during use. The dial is difficult to maneuver with out turning the entire knob. When using this vibe on the highest setting the noise is very loud and it rattles inside the toy. When in use the vibrations can be felt through out the toy, including the balls and head. The strong vibrations come at a price. This toy will eat batteries like crazy. After three uses the batteries had to be replaced.
Experience
I like how this toy feels. The size is average to a little above average and very realistic. I have used it alone and with my partner. I prefer to use it alone. When using it with a partner the sound of use and vibrations was very distracting and we giggled more than we played, which was not a bad thing, but it somewhat defeats the purpose. It sounded like I was getting dental work, and it was increasingly funny sounding when thrusting. The knob also started rattling during use, making a very loud noise.

I do prefer to use it with out the toy turned on. My favorite way to use it is to use it for thrusting. The texture and size are the best things about they toy. I think it makes a better dildo than it does a vibrator. The vibrations felt good on my clit, and during penetration they were strong, maybe too strong at times. Having kids make this toy a little too loud to enjoy when they are home. There were times I had a hard time keeping a straight face because of the noises and how loud this toy is. It makes the sounds that are spoofed on T.V. when vibrators are discussed.

High noise levels can be a real disruption during a session of love making, it's good that you have worked around that. Is that curve great for g-spot stimulation while you are thrusting? Thanks for the review.

This is not great for g spot stimulation. The shaft is not flexible just the head making it hard to hit the exact spot for me.

I also find that noise bothers me more during partner play when you try to be intimate and make love.
