Use

The Scoop from California Exotics is designed to stimulate your clitoris. You could also insert it as the head is slightly curved to easily hit your G-spot. You can also turn the toy around, with the handle facing away from you, and use the rounded tip to stimulate your clitoris. Couples can enjoy this as a teasing toy because the vibrations feel nice on sensitive areas such as the nipples, on the shaft of the penis, or around the balls. This is a multipurpose toy that can be used in a variety of ways to please you.

It has no flared base, so I don’t recommend using this anally. It is waterproof, so you can enjoy this toy in the tub or shower. Just make sure the cap on the battery compartment is screwed on tightly, so water won’t get inside and damage your toy. It’s a cute toy that beginners and experienced users can get a lot of fun out of.

Material / Texture

The Scoop has a head shaped like a spoon, so it can give the clitoris nice coverage. It is made of smooth, hard plastic. There is a metal ring around the shaft which doesn’t seem to have any purpose. It helps keep my grip, and prevents my fingers from sliding around, but that’s about it.
    • No odor
    • Not porous at all

Design / Shape / Size

The total shape is like a baby’s spoon. It is 7 1/2" in length, with a diameter of 2 1/4" at the head. The head is not very large, but it still has a wide enough surface area for great coverage. The design is nice and discreet. If you left this out, people will probably wonder what it is, but they won’t automatically think sex toy.

Functions / Performance / Controls

There is a simple turn dial at the base that controls the intensity of the vibrations. The nob is a little difficult to turn, but this means you won’t accidentally change the setting during use. It starts off very low, but turn it all the way, and the vibrations get nice and strong. Turn it the opposite way to turn it back off. The vibrations are more on the buzzy side, but don’t make me feel itchy or numb. The vibrations are extremely quiet. It definitely won’t be heard through a closed door.

It is operated by two AAA batteries which are not included. Just unscrew the battery compartment, and put the batteries in the included tray, pointy side first, and twist the cap back on. To prolong the life of your batteries, I recommend taking the batteries out after each use.
    • Discreet sound
    • Easy to use
    • Not enough variety

Care and Maintenance

You can clean this with warm water and soap, your favourite toy cleaner, or toy wipes. Once in a while, I dab a bit of isopropyl alcohol on a cotton ball and give the toy a good rub down.

Since it is plastic, you can store this with any materials. It is safe to use with all kinds of lubricants. It has no drag, so not much, if any, lube is needed.
    • Easy to clean
    • Easy to store

Packaging

It comes in a see through plastic packaging that has a little whole on the top to display the toy. There is a little folded up paper with instructions about inserting the batteries.

Experience

This toy is my least favourite out of the Clit Exciter, and the Heart Racer. The scoop doesn’t cover my clitoris properly, but the vibrations still feel nice. At least I can use this toy in other ways to get the stimulation I like.
Follow-up commentary
This toy wasn't getting much use from me anymore so I ended up throwing it away. The scoop concept is a great idea, however the long, skinny handle made it awkward to hold during use. I think I would have preferred it more if I didn't have to hold it so close to my body.
