When my partner and I first received The Scoop by California Exotic|Scoop™ we were initially caught up in how amazingly bright and colorful it was. Our Scoop is bright orange with tiny shimmery specks embedded in the plastic. I mean, with a color scheme like that, how can you not smile while using it?

The Scoop is made of hard plastic and therefore has no give to it and while it is not porous, it also cannot be sterilized so you'd probably want to use a condom for safety when sharing. To clean: just wash with toy cleaner or soap and water. The seal on the end has an o-ring to protect against water, but it only looks splash-proof. For power The Scoop uses just two AAA batteries, which are easy to put in as long you don't rely on the directions, which are mostly just confusing. With just two AAA's, The Scoop really knows how to work efficiently since I was a bit surprised by its power. Still, it probably wouldn't satisfy power-queens. It's a very quiet vibe. On low the buzz, the sound gets lost even just on the other side of a room, and on high it would not be heard behind a door.

The motor is located just before the scoop section to focus its strength. The vibration itself is much more of a shallow, localized buzz as opposed to some larger vibes' deep thrums. The range of speed adjusts via a dial at the end, which, while ridged, can be a little hard to manage while you're distracted.

Most importantly: the shape. The Scoop is shaped just how it sounds, with the curved end having a little hollow that nestles right around your clit. When you look at it, you know exactly where it goes. The shape is also great for teasing nipples. (It also fits right over your nose—just for fun.) The handle is long and slender which is perfect for self-use, but when trying to use it on a partner The Scoop was almost impossible to handle. The angle was all wrong and it was impossible to tell what you were doing. But it isn't made for partner-play; in the hands of the clit-owner, it's perfect. You lay the scoop over your clit with the handle resting on your belly and it basically does the rest of the work while leaving you open to other activities.

For the sake of science (yeah sure) I did try it internally as that scoop shape got my g-spot on my mind. It does reach the g-spot nicely, but it's so narrow and buzzy that it didn't do much for me for the work I was putting in to it.

For what this toy is designed for (i.e. intense personal clitoral stimulation), the Scoop performs its job wonderfully. As a stand along toy, it’s great; as an addition to oral sex or intercourse, The Scoop really shines. I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys vibration and is the lucky owner of a clit.

First of all, the shape is killer- the Scoop manages to massage all the right places, all at the same time, which is something I've yet to discover in a vibe. It's a little magical. It's amazing for masturbation, and one of the best parts about it is how quiet it is- when my partner was dirty talking to me while I used it, I didn't have to strain to hear her at all over the vibration noise, which can be a problem sometimes with the louder vibes. I didn't find that the quality of the vibration suffered any from the silence, either- although it's not the most powerful vibe I've used, it's more than adequate, and because of the shape, more powerful vibrations don't seem necessary.
