Lucid dream 28 - traditional vibrator discontinued by Doc Johnson - review by Not Here Anymore f/k/a Happy Lady

I have had the Lucid Dream No. 28 for a little over 3 months now, and it is still one of the best purchases I have ever made! I have used it no less than twice a week since I received it in the mail and it is still going strong.

I bought this toy because I was in search of a vibe I could use for g-spot stimulation, as well as deeper penetration stimulation. This is the perfect toy for me. My g-spot is a little more shallow than the other women I have known and I think this may be why the ridges hit me perfectly. I love the ridges, girth and length of this vibe; however, my last girlfriend found it painful. She said the ridges were uncomfortable for her.

The Lucid Dream No. 28 is a lot more flexible than I thought it would be. I can easily manipulate it from the sitting position so that the vibrations hit me on my g-spot while I press the part of the vibe not inserted against my clit. In 3 months and I have bent it all sorts of ways in all sorts of uses and it still goes strong!

I did read some complaints about the flexibility which I also had trouble with at first. I learned that to use it for clitoral stimulation, I have to grasp it just below the main head and hold it in place. It takes practice to learn to control and grip it to use it for what you want, but once you learn that control, it is SO worth it!

I love the dial control vibrations, which range from a simmer to a HOT level. I also love that the vibrations come from the insertion end of the vibe, rather than from the base. It's really amazing to have this toy all the way inside of me with the vibrations set on high. The noise level is perfect. It is so quiet that I was actually comfortable sneaking off in my house during a family gathering to play – and my house is very small.

This vibe is truly waterproof, even with the dial vibration control. I love to use it in the bath in combination with one of my best friends: the massaging shower head. I have used it under water, in the shower, and have ejaculated all over it and there has never been a problem with it functioning properly.

This toy has the best battery life of any of my other toys. It takes 2 AA that are easy to change in the middle of your experience if necessary.

I clean this toy with warm soapy water, and I use a condom on it if I use it on someone else. You need to pay special attention to cleaning cum out of the hard plastic dial control area because it has very small ridges. It is a jelly, and there is still a faint jelly smell after cleaning, but it doesn't bother me because I don't use this toy near my nose!

I use the Lucid Dream No. 28 for solo play and by itself all the time. I love to start by rubbing the vibrating head all over my clit. I don't have to use lube any more with this toy because when I start rubbing it on my clit, the anticipation of the ridges sliding in and out of me gets me soaking wet. I would say I always start slowly with penetration with this toy, but that would be a lie. In fact, I usually rub it around on my clit until I feel like I'm just about to cum and then plunge it into me as far as I can. (I don't recommend doing this until you have experience with this toy.) I love to use this roughly on myself, plunging deep over and over again. The ridges rub me in such wonderful ways that just thinking about is getting me ready to go again!

I have also been able to achieve g-spot orgasm with ejaculation many times with this toy. I do this by rubbing my clit with it until I'm ready and then bending it while inserting it so that the vibrations hit me right on my g-spot. When I feel like I'm completely full and just about to cum, I pull it out and rub it on my clit again. This always “breaks the dam” and has me cumming every where.

I have not used this toy for anal stimulation because I'm just not really excited by that. I imagine the bulbous head might be fairly large for anal stimulation.

I've had this vibe for over 6 months now and something terrible has happened that must be mentioned.

I was dutifully cleaning this toy with hot water & antibacterial soap, but not covering it with a condom when using it solo.

Not long after I wrote the original review I started getting bacterial vaginosis (BV) infections. At the time I had no sexual partners. During the course of infection(s)/treatment(s) I was not using any toys to masturbate.

A couple of weeks after I would finish a BV treatment, I would get another infection. I was using this toy as my main solo toy, although I was NOT using it during infection or treatment times. Just to be sure, I started covering it with a condom for use. Sure enough, the BV stopped.

I have used ALL of my other solo-use toys since the BV stopped without condoms (well, the ones I actually use) and only used a condom on the Lucid Dream. I haven't had an infection since. (I've also received products I like better so I use the Lucid Dream less now.)

I have no scientific proof that it was the Lucid Dream causing me the BV, but there certainly is enough circumstantial evidence that I must recommend you use a condom on it all the time, whether solo play or using it with a partner. Jelly cannot be completely sterilized and can harbor bacteria, EVEN WITH the use of antibacterial soap to clean.
