Two Stars Earn Two Stars

Pretty and fun, the silver star nipple shields have little else going for them. Very few nipples will actually work with these.

Pros
Pretty and fun, offer an awkward way to decorate nipples without piercing.
Cons
They won't really work on the majority of nipples.

extremely useful review
These funny little things are a whole lot of empty promises, almosts and "maybe if I just...". In the end I've found a way to make them work for me, but it took a lot of finagling. They are beautiful, yes, but I'm going to have to give them a poor review because - hot damn - these things just don't really...work.

I have big nipples, or so I've been told, so I'm confident that these shields *should* work for me. And they do, but after a lot of work, and not securely, and in a way that I don't really like. Now, that said, I do actually have one pierced nipple, and I totally love the way the shield looks when I pop it around my piercing. I am thrilled to report that it slips in place quite easily and securely - the problem being what to do with the "lasso" piece of wire?

The lasso itself is long enough, on me, to wrap around my nipple 1.5 times. this should be enough to get a "squeeze" to keep the shield in place. This is really really hard to do. If my nipples were longer (mine are, I dunno, a centimeter or so tall) this might be easier. In the end, after carefully straightening out the lasso and then painstakingly slowly wrapping the wire tightly around my nipple, I was able to get the shield to stay in place. However, try as I might, I could not get it to lie flat, or at least flush (it was tilted). To top things off, I really couldn't get it to lie against my breast - the lasso made the shield "pop out" a little bit.

I have since found that using a pair of nipple clamps to stretch out my nipples helps me get these shields in place tighter and closer to my breast, which is nice. Unfortunately, however, getting the lasso adequately secure to really make these stay in place is impossible. Inevitably, the star shield always pops off, and this is accelerated by physical activity (beyond the obvious, this includes things like walking)

The stars themselves are 1" wide, but the nipple hole in their center is 9/16" (or about 1.5cm). If your nipples are close to this size in diameter, you'll eventually have success with these, like I did. If your nipples are much smaller, just keep on searching, my friend. These nipple shields will never work for you. The bendy silver wire that's used to wrap around your nipple is almost 3" long.

Being made of sterling silver, they can be boiled if you feel the need to sanitize them, and they can be polished up to a sparkling shine with jewelry polishing products, if you so desired. They come in a smallish jewelry box (with clear window on front) that isn't exactly stunning or lovely, but will serve as a storage location if you don't want these in your jewelry box.
Experience
Really, if you want to wear nipple shields, get a nipple piercing (temporary piercings work well as well, if you roll a bit kinky in your ways). There are all sorts of fabulous nipple shields out there that work basically like these ones on pierced nipples - just slip it over and behind the piercing and voila. In lieu of getting a piercing, temporary or permanent, these will work, I guess, but Frankly not good enough to justify the price tag. The one small caveat that I'll make on that is that ball shaped nipples (with a natural 'neck') or longer nipples may have more success with these. I feel like these features, in combination with a large diameter, describes very few people. But perhaps I am wrong.

I am going to modify my set of star nipple shields to remove the lasso. I intend to use them as a nipple shield on my pierced nipple. I also think they might be fun to use for decoration in conjunction with nipple clamps or temporary piercing or...something. They are pretty and they do inspire a little bit of creativity in me, even if they just plain do not work as advertised.
Follow-up commentary
These are still crappy and still do not work on my nipples - in fact, I said in my original review that I was able to wear one because it stayed on due to the fact that I have one of my nipples pierced. Well, I have since discovered that even still, it must be won so tight that it starts to ache after a few hours of wear. I suppose these would be good for someone with pierced nipples looking for something to wear to entice a lover, but as part of an outfit for an evening or a long extended sex session? No way!

    Red,
I'm so glad to read this,I've been looking at these for a while now. Almost got them with the 35% off. I do have big nipples also. Man, I'd hate to pay the price and them not work.
Maybe I should just bit the bullet and them pierced. Does it hurt like a bitch when you get them done? That's what's keeping me from doing it. So what is a temp. piercing? Isn't pierced, pierced? Do tell.

    Awesome, awesome review!!Winking

Hi Crystal Girl - You're very welcome. I would be more than a little annoyed if I had spent money on these, so I'm glad I saved you that annoyance! Temporary piercing is a kinky things some folks like to do with sterile, one use, skinny needles (skinnier than a body piercing, slightly fatter than acupuncture). It's fun, but not for everyone.

Nipple piercing isn't actually *that* bad - its more painful if you dread it more - if that makes sense. The second is worse than the first, because you dread it more. I know someone who had hers pierced simultaneously Smile Healing is the larger challenge - they heal as slowly or slower than a belly button piercing. And your nipples are kind of out of commission while healing is going on. My suggestion is to get just one done, actually, then the other if you decide its worth it when the first has healed.

I think 'bolo tie' style nipple decorations might work better. Or rings kind of like a toe ring (that can be squeezed to crimp on). Good luck!

Thanks Red, that helps a lot. I'll have to think on it a little longer. The 'bolo tie' sounds like the one to go with. I've tried the Asian Hearts nipple ring and they were fun.

    Thanks for all the info.Winking

I agree - I'd love to try these, but I'd be afraid they wouldn't fit on mine.

Thanks for the review! That's too bad they are not adjustable to fit a variety of sizes of nipples. I think they are really attractive but I'd be worried they wouldn't fit me.
    Thanks again!

Aw Im so disapointed, i really wanted you to say they were great....lol!
Id still be tempted to try them but maybe look at alternatives first now, I do not have pierced nips so would love anything that looks like they are.
    Great review thanks again!
