Cupid Ripples is a very large, hand held vibrator that has some very prominent texturing. This would best be used by someone who loves a lot of texture and likes a large girth on their toys. Beginner to advanced users who fit that category would enjoy the Ripple.

The Ripple is good for solo masturbation, clitoral stimulation and couple play. I would not recommend this for solo anal, but if a partner has a good grip it could be used anally. The Ripple makes a great sensory teaser for nipples, back of knees and other erogenous zones making this a good teaser vibrator.

Cupid's Ripples is made of silicone which has a safety rating of 10 on the Eden safety scale. Silicone is nonporous, hypoallergenic, waterproof, long lasting, non toxic, odorless, chemical resistant and heat stable. This silicone is a bit rougher than the soft and velvety silicone I have recently gotten used to, courtesy of Lelo, Tantus and Nomi Tang. This silicone feels a bit more rubbery, like a harsh eraser. Silicone can be safely shared after a thorough cleaning and sanitization.

There is definitely a lot of drag to the material and the added ripples create a serious amount of texture. This is definitely a lubed toy for any use other than sensory teasing on your skin. The drag was painful for me, so one of the first things I did was grab the water based lubricant. This did help immensely with the drag, but not too much with the ripples.

I would suggest this vibrator as an intermediate to advanced experience level product. The texture is pretty extreme for beginning users and even for me. For sensitive skinned people of any level, if you cannot handle some definite texture, you might want to rethink this and get a milder vibrator.

There is no aroma or taste to this product.

Cupid's Ripples is 7 5/8" long with about 6 1/8" of this being insertable. The diameter varies from 1 1/16" diameter of the ball tip to 1 7/8" around the bottom of the insertable area.

To access the battery compartment, twist the base off, add 2 AA batteries, replace the base and you are ready to vibrate! The motor is very quiet but a bit weak. I would rate it as a medium strength bullet. This is waterproof, so make sure you tighten the base very well.

The ball tip is flexible and bends easily. The rest of the vibrator is rigid but does have a slightly plush layer of silicone that will push in a bit when you apply pressure. The ripples are about 1/16" deep and have sharp folded creases along the top. Each ripple is about 1/16" apart and there is 3 1/2" of the ridged texturing. These ridges made me feel completely raw internally and externally after about 10 minuters of use. Yes, I was stupid enough to continue trying the vibrator after I realized the texture was maybe a bit too extreme for me, but you never know when something might work and mellow the ridges out a bit.

There was almost no vibrations in the tip, but they were the strongest about 2" down from the tip. Of course, this is also in the middle of the ridges. The shape would have been fine without the extreme edges on the ripples. I would have preferred a smaller vibrator, but could have made the size work out eventually. I am just completely incompatible with this product. If you love texture, this one was made just for you!!

Due to the size and appearance, I would not use this as a travel vibe.

The control button is on the bottom of the base. You have to push the button through the cycles to turn it off. This does get bumped by hour hands during play, so be prepared for a surprise every now and again. It is very easy to use and control, however with the steady, strongest vibrations being set apart form the other steady vibration patterns, you can get confused at where you are in the pattern level. I thought I had gotten a faulty one until I read the pattern list on the box and realized what was going on.

The Ripple has weak vibrations compared to other vibes of this size. I was hoping for a bit more power, especially after seeing the size and hoping the motors were bigger. This works great in water, and the water does not dampen the vibrations.

To clean the Ripple, I would suggest buying a baby's toothbrush for getting in the ridges. Use it very gently and it will clean this up in no time. Wash thoroughly in warm, soapy water and rinse very well. Go back over it with toy cleaner, 10% bleach solution or hold the insertable area in boiling water for about 10 minutes. Do not submerge. This is a lint magnet, so air drying is preferred. If the material starts to get a bit tacky, rub it with an extremely light coating of cornstarch.

Store this separately in its own container, I use the original box. You may also use a pouch or zip lock bag. Other materials will create a chemical reaction in the silicone of your Ripple and will render it unsafe for use. Always use water based lubes with this item.

The Ripple does come in a cardboard box that can be used for storage until the lid tears. There is a plastic formed and folded insert to keep the dust, etc. off your Ripple. The front of the box has a cut out the size of your vibrator. This is actually a very informative and useful box, but is not discreet in any way. The box has a magnetic closure on back for the two folding information panels. Good for storage, just not forever--the box is cardboard.
