Ying yang love ring - cock ring discontinued by Doc Johnson - review by Rosie and Thorns

The Ying Yang Love Ring was the first non-vibrating, non-silicone based cock ring that we tried. I wanted to try something that might give me a little added pleasure, while satisfying Rosie at the same time. Because it was our first time I did a lot of research before choosing this one. After looking at the cock rings available based on size, material and look, I chose this cock ring because it was stretchy and had a beaded texture which really intrigued me (and in the end was useless to both of us).

I do recommend learning how to measure yourself for a cock ring. What you absolutely need to know is: measure around the shaft and under you scrotum, then divide that number by pi (3.14) to get the diameter that would comfortably fit you. Keeping my measurements in mind I knew the Ying Yang Cock Ring was going to be a little tight, although I thought if it is a little too small it will stretch. I didn’t want to purchase a ring that was larger because if a cock ring is too large it will not have its desired effect.

The Ying Yang Love Ring was quite impressive when we received it. The packaging looked nice and was easy to open, always a bonus. It comes in a metal case that the ring fits in perfectly. It was so inconspicuous I could have left it sitting out on the coffee table and guests would be none the wiser (until they opened it).

I read that the ring is suppose to be put on while flaccid so I assumed the position and started to put it on. Just like I read I lubed myself up, slipped it over the shaft and then put my testicles through one at a time - this is where it got a little tricky. I was very nervous of letting go and having it snap down on me (that would have been a mood kill). Almost immediately my shaft started to get hard until my veins looked like they were going to pop. About three minutes in it started to hurt and not long after it felt like it was going numb. After that happened I decided to just slide it over the shaft which didn’t add any pleasure for me or Rosie. It also lost the effect of prolonging the experience any longer than usual.

After my encounter with the ring I wondered why it was so tight when it was around the shaft and scrotum. If the un-stretched diameter was 2” and the stretched diameter was 3” (as the manufacture printed) this was right in my range. Then I measured the ring and found the inside un-stretched diameter was only 1.25” and about 1” measuring from bead to bead. The ring can stretch to 3” in diameter but the material is so taught that it will go back to the 1-1.5” range after you put it on.

Overall I was not thrilled with the Ying Yang Love Ring. It could have been because I am a rookie, but in the end it did not give either me or Rosie any extra pleasure. If you want to use this as a ring to just go over the shaft, this might be perfect for you (measure first buy once). If you are looking for something with a little more bang, I would look into other rings. This experience has not stopped me from trying cock rings, but for now we will just stick with the silicone vibrating ones.
