Lovering 8ight - cock ring by Fun Factory - review by Alan & Michele

With its chunky construction and bright colors, the Lovering 8ight more closely resembles a child's toy than it does a cock ring; but they aren't kidding around when they say it's a clitoral stimulator. Considering that it is not a vibrating toy, it does the job nicely with very little effort.

We had mixed first impressions when we first took this toy out of the box. On the positive side it was well constructed and bigger than we thought it would be, indicating that it would be a durable toy that would last a long time. Overall, it's about 3-1/4"long x 2" wide, and the ring itself has a thickness of roughly 3/8". The clitoral 'bumper', as we call it, is 1" wide and protrudes 3/4" up from the ring. There is a big difference in the 'squishiness' of the ring as compared to the bumper is that the pliability of the ring more closely resembles the feeling when you 'pinch an inch' at your waistline, while the bumper is firmer and has very little give to it.

On the negative side the ring part had a bit of a tacky feeling that was somewhat unpleasant, but it did not leave any residue when rubbed, so we decided to go ahead and give it a try. The clitoral bumper does not have any tacky feel to it at all.

The first order of business for us when we get any new toy is to wash it, and we were impressed at how easy this was. There is a deep groove around the base of the clitoral bumper, and the ring fits into that groove. They fit quite firmly together, but the toy's still easy to disassemble and reassemble. Being 100% silicone, we used mild soap and water to clean it, and it rinsed well. For people who are not fluid bonded with their partners, you can optionally sterilize silicone in boiling water.

The ring part is amazingly stretchy making it easy to put on, and in spite of the toy's size the unit didn't flop around after it was in place. The unique figure eight design offers two different sizes of rings, so you can experiment with which feels best. The larger hole has a maximum stretch of about 2", and the smaller is more around 1-3/4" maximum. We have heard that you can put one of the rings over the penis, and the other over the scrotum, but in the booklet that comes with the toy the manufacturer clearly states that the Lovering 8ight in only intended for penile use and is not suitable for the scrotum. We're not sure why they say this, but we decided not to go against the manufacturer's recommendations.

I have to admit that I giggled a bit when Alan first put this on, because it looked quite... festive; not the manliest ring, but effective all the same. We tried it cowgirl style first, and that was what I consider to be the best use for this toy. By adjusting my weight and hip rotation I could get everything from a gentle brushing, to a hard rubbing sensation directly on the clit. I didn't have to adjust the bumper any to find the "right spot", because it was already there, and no matter what I did the toy stayed where we put it.

For missionary style it still provided some stimulation, but it wasn't as consistent or satisfying for me as during cowgirl style. The bumper did reach the clitoral area but, with both of us moving, it seemed to pull away too often and sometimes hit to the side of the clit.
Maybe my butt's shaped funny or something. Because when we tested it doggie style, I really didn't notice much stimulation at all to the anus, though I have heard people say that the Lovering 8ight can do that as well.

The only bad thing I can say about this toy is the purple part picks up hairs/lint VERY easily, so you might want to keep the box it came in; which has a fitted plastic "nest" for the toy to rest in. Other than that, I'm very pleased with this toy... too bad it doesn't vibrate!

This is one of the most comfortable cock rings I've worn so far. It was tight, but not unpleasant at all, and it wasn't difficult to get on or off. I figure it would be a good ring for guys who were new to using them, because it's flexible enough that you don't have to worry about it getting stuck on there. For those who are wondering, yes it's tight enough to help keep the erection going too.

The back of the clitoral nub sticks through the ring a bit. I was wondering at first if that would feel uncomfortable against me, when I was using it, but I barely even noticed it. I didn't realize how firm that nub was though, until I leaned forward and did a bit of a "power thrust"; which Michele let me know right away was not a great idea. She said it sort of "racked" her clit when I did that, but that was my bad and nothing wrong with the toy.

We still enjoy the Lovering 8ight from time to time, but since we've both grown so fond of our dual vibrating cock rings it doesn't get the use it deserves. A lot of that initial tacky surface feel that we mentioned has faded over time so now it's not pulling hair and such like it used to and is even more comfortable to wear than before as a result. The rings have retained their size and in spite of being stretched, scrubbed, boiled, and left in the glove compartment of the car (twice), the toy shows no signs of wear whatsoever. This is definitely a cock ring that stands the test of time for durability.
