Sailor boy - costume discontinued by Coquette - review by SexyStuff

I liked the idea of the Sailor costume, but my husband was not so sure. Normally he tries out the crazy stuff I order with some measure of enthusiasm, but he had a hard time getting into the sailor character. A little sweet-talking helped. And once in the costume, he looked adorable! See pictures below.

Packaging



The outfit comes in a plastic bag with a built-in plastic hanger. I think this plastic packaging may have been the source of the stinky smell. This product was made in China. There are four parts to the costume included: pants, hat, top, necktie.

Sizing and Fit
I followed the size chart when ordering, and was quite happy with the fit. The costume runs true to size. I really liked that the pants were plenty long enough.

Fabric and Care

The fabric is 80% nylon and 20% spandex. The costume is not soft enough to use as pajamas, but comfortable to wear around for a bit. The fabric is very lightweight, but not sheer. The fabric and whole costume had a moderately strong chemical smell to them. A few hours after being out of the packaging, the smell faded a bit but was still stinky if you put it up to your nose. There are shiny gold buttons and trim and an embroidered patch.

For care, it says to hand-wash only and hang to dry.

Overall, I liked this costume. There were some quality issues like extra threads on the hat, the smell, and the piping did not have finished edges. The quality is not reflected in the full price, but if you wait for a sale it is a reasonable deal.
