First I want to ask for your patience - although I've written more than 60 reviews, this my 1st in more than 3 years - so I'm a bit rusty!

There are a wide range of combination prostate stimulators with an integrated cock ring. They are available in metal, non-body safe synthetics (like jelly) and like this toy, of silicone. Hands down silicone is by far the best. Everyone's anatomy is a bit different - so metal versions may or may not fit you and at a minimum are difficult to put on. As for the synthetics - they burn my skin - so they are a no-go.

There is only one way to use this toy - and that's as it was designed. Because the silicone is flexible I have been able to put it on with the prostate plug first - or the cock ring first. However, I'd recommend putting the cock ring on first.

I find that putting the Prostate Play on in the shower - using just water as the lubricant works best. Too much lubrication can cause the bulb to pop out unexpectedly.

As reviewer Sigian pointed out, you can also place the ring over just your cock. I haven't tried this but the ball-splitter concept is intriguing and I'll include how this works for me in the follow-up review.

Although the prostate piece is interesting, I've found that the cock ring part is what my wife finds the most attractive. As a 62+ year old guy, erection quality and duration are a more-or-less constant battle. This small (1.5") ring makes for a tight fit. The happy result is a slightly larger - much harder erection. What I can say is that the quality and type of silicone can vary widely and have a great impact on usefulness and performance. There are many products that claim to be silicone - but have other ingredients that degrade their performance. The silicone that this product is made from is 100% top quality.

Silicone is also available in a wide range of densities that result in an effect from rigid to floppy. The Prostate Play is a medium density - really perfect for the product. Too hard is uncomfortable and too soft makes anal penetration difficult - they got it just right!

Finally silicones come in smooth and matte finishes. Both have their advantages, smooth finishes need less lubricant and glide easily. Matte finishes have a drag quality that can require more lubrication. This toy has a matte finish - which I think is the right choice. Although a smooth finish would help with insertion - it would also increase the chance that it would pop out at just the wrong time. The anus naturally wants to reject intruders - so a small or overly slick toy will be rejected by the natural contractions.

The Prostate Play has a simple yet sophisticated design. I'd say it was designed for anal beginners - but as a more advanced user, I found it quite enjoyable and effective.

The prostate bulb goes in easily and is shaped to give you a nice pressure - but not overwhelming. It's 1.25" at it's widest point and about 3.75" long.

The neck of the Prostate Play is so small that once inserted, I couldn't even tell it was there.

The 3" connecting flange to the cock ring is flat and very comfortable - another example of how well thought out the design of this toy is.

At 1.5" the cock ring is a bit small - but expands as needed up to 2.5". My metal cock rings are 2" - so the stretch works just fine. The gauge of the ring makes me worry about it breaking - but silicone is very strong stuff and it's certainly adequate.

I'd also like to mention that the dimensions listed on the product profile are exact - that's not always the case. It's nice to be able to trust what you read.

I love this toy so much that if they came up with the next size up - let's say 1.5' - 1.75" diameter plug and a heavier gauge (less flexible) 1.75" cock ring, I'd buy it in a minute!

If you're getting up there in age - like me, or you have erection issues from medication, you'll find the combination of prostate stimulation and cock ring a great help. If you're not familiar with cock rings, the basic idea is that the ring allows blood to flow in - but restricts the outflow. When it works properly, I'm able to achieve a firm erection and keep it for a much longer time - even past orgasm. When it works great, enough blood is retained that size is increased - just slightly, but noticeable for my partner. You can tell when this is happening when the skin tightens and turns a bit of a dark red.

Caution - there is a risk, keeping the ring on for too long can damage the penis - like the Viagra commercial says "...if you have an erection that lasts more than 4 hours get medical help right away!" I wish! For the 45-60 minutes that I wear a cock ring, there have been no issues.

The bottom line is this product exceeded my expectations.

Premium silicone is extraordinarily easy to clean and maintain. Simply wash with your favorite soap and hot water. Some people are a bit squeamish about something that has been in their ass - if this is you, you could put a small condom on during use - or you can use the 5% bleach solution suggested in the product description.

Silicone is also dishwasher safe. Every once in a while I'll load up a bunch of toys to give them an automated wash. You know you have a lot of toys - when you can fill a dishwasher! Guilty as charged!

It is not recommended that you use silicone lubes with silicone toys. Although I was once a fan of silicone lubricants - we've stopped using them completely. Our go to lubrication for everything is simple coconut oil. If more people knew about this the whole lubrication industry would be put into bankruptcy. Of course water-based lubes will work fine.

As for storage we have two drawers full of dildos and other toys - and because they are either metal glass or 100% silicone, no special precautions are necessary. If you have any cheap silicone toys and they come into contact for a few days, they will begin to deteriorate - this is one way to know if you have 100% silicone or not. Pure silicone toys can be in contact with each other without causing any damage.

You might call the packaging 'minimalist' - which is a good thing. A simple plastic bag arrived in a plain brown box. Not even any instructions - but none are needed, how to use the Prostate Play is pretty obvious.

When my wife gets that gleam in her eye and says, "I need that hard dick in me now!" - you know the Prostate Play is doing its job!
