It's a mystery why I didn't buy this toy sooner. Unlike most of the toys out there for men, the Fleshlight stands alone as a high quality device that is still simple and very enjoyable to use. Its hard plastic exterior is easy to grip (even when your hand has a bit of lube on it). It accommodates me very well, as that's been a problem with other toys since I'm a few inches above average. The soft, rubbery part requires a moderate amount of water-based lube (NO SILICONE!), and damn, does it feel good! It's couples-friendly and my wife enjoys using it on me from time to time. Clean up is fairly simple (Toy Cleaner from Wet works wonders on it), but it does take a little while to dry. This is not that "use it, and then toss it in the closet quickly" sort of toy. This is a "use it, clean it, let it air dry a bit, then later put it away" sort of toy. Putting it away wet will, in fact, make it take on some very funky, musty odors that don't come out with any sort of cleaner.

That being said, this is also not a daily use toy for myself. I find that I use it weekly, as getting time to prep, use, clean, and dry requires a bit of time. It's well worth it, but it's not as quick or efficient as your hand.

I opted for the original, first, just to get an idea of what it felt like before stepping up to other textures and styles. And, while the interior is smooth and simple, it does still take you to amazing places, pleasure wise. Don't think that "plain" means boring, or that it's not going to feel great. It will, and even after you get other textures you will still come back to "The Original" from time to time.

Guide:
1) Prep
You can warm it up in a bowl of warm water, or if you are in the shower, running warm water over it.

2) Lube up (water based only)

3) Enjoy
Ensure to play/adjust the end-cap, as that provides more suction or more airflow to create different sensations. I find that full open is more like real sex, and almost all the way closed is the best blowjob you've ever gotten

4) Clean up
Toy cleaner works best, and mild soap is okay. Take the rubbery part out, run water through it, all around it. After rinsing thoroughly, shake off all the excess water you can.

5) Drying
Place it on a clean, dry towel, and air dry for at least 30 minutes

6) Post-dry-prep
Dust it with cornstarch to maintain that 'out of the box' feel. Don't use too much, either; just a very fine dusting.

Experience wise and use wise, I have but one suggestion:
Get the shower suction cup accessory! (for a hands-free experience)

That is, if you have a smooth shower wall or counter top that you can suction it onto (not textured, not tiled).

Going hands free with this thing is the best adaption to it. Plus, if you use it in the shower, clean up is that much easier.
