So much hype about one little series! When I first ordered this book I knew it was about sex, but I didn't know much more than that. I had no idea about the BDSM relationship in this book! Definitely threw me off guard. Basically, girl meets guy and they're polar opposites, she being sweet and innocent and a virgin while he's mysterious and rich and bold.

You can tell immediately that they fall in love. Christian resorts to pretty much stalking Ana until they finally have a night of passion, despite the fact that he's into BDSM and she's barely been kissed. The first sex scene in this book blew my mind! I usually read harlequin romance novels, so this was a big difference! This book has very intense sex scenes (warning: learned the hard way not to read it around others!) and after the first one I had to put the book down and have a cigarette! And I'm for sure no sweet lil' virgin! Throughout the rest of the book Christian tries not to fall in love with Ana but does pretty quickly, even though he's against relationships and, well, basically anything conventional, down to sleeping in the same bed. Ana tries to wrap her head around the fact that the man she's falling for is a badly damaged Dominant and wants to do very bad things to her without giving her much in return emotionally.

The story itself is pretty intense with plenty of sex scenes; in Ana's defense, she becomes pretty open very quickly - more quickly than most virgins, I'm sure. This book not only has loads of kinky erotica and romance but also plenty of drama and action. I've recommended this book to others and usually do tell them it's a must-read. The only issues I have with this book are that the author tends to overuse a lot of words and phrases, and that I have trouble believing either one of them could change so quickly for the other. Christian didn't really put up much of a fight, even though he's supposed to be sooooo damaged and stubborn. But still, a great, entertaining read!

This book is terrible. The amateur prose and unrestrained point of view makes it painfully evident that this was once fanfiction. I'm glad that you enjoyed it... but I can't read it without wanting to laugh and give it in to a peer reviewed writing workshop to be torn to shreds.
