How to Make Love Like a Porn Star - book discontinued by Regan Books - review by Jobthingy

I bought this book back in 2006. I am an auto-bio whore and to be quite honest, the thought of reading the story of Jenna made me rather excited. It is a gorgeous, thick, 500 (plus) page book about a porn stars life. Lovely hard cover with a sleeve staring a stunning Marilyn Monroe-esque picture of Jenna - SOLD! It is written by Jenna Jameson, co-written by Neil Strauss and published by HarperCollins.

This book was awesome and is truly one of my favorites. Yes it can be quite depressing, but that is life. It's is not always ponies and lollipops especially with the life of a girl in the porn business. There is a whole slew of bad that eventually gets better. It was most definitely a hard road for her. I really would not expect it to be easy. There is abuse, addiction, bad men, really all you would expect. However, the writing is great and the book flowed wonderfully. She is a beautiful soul and you really get to know the girl inside. I got a kick out of the cartoons throughout like "dancer injuries 101" and "how to date a Porn Star". There are diary excerpts of hers through the book but not so much that it takes over and she also delves more deeply into the entry.

I found her story to be fascinating and I was hooked in no time flat. Don't we always wonder how a girl gets into that lifestyle? She breaks it down from start (from when she was just a little girl, with cute family pictures) to finish (the publishing finish in 2004 when she married Jay G) and gives you all the dirty details in between. Most of the professional pictures, both black and white and color throughout are absolutely stunning and they break apart the read very well.

If you are an auto-bio lover like me, I totally recommended it. I have had many friends borrow this book and loved it. I am sure you will as well. Sure you will not learn how to really make love like a porn star but you will certainly get in the head of one. Is there anything better?

I love this book. I have read it a few times and I have loaned it to many friends. It is always a hit no matter who reads it. Always a fav in my book collection.
