Rubber Sex features 19 stories, each written by a different author. The book was edited by Rachel Kramer Bussel. In the back of the book, there is a 2 page section about Rachel. There is also a 6 page section about the other authors from the book. This tells you what else the author has written, and where you can find more of their work. I was surprised, because looking through the authors list after reading, that there were 4 stories from men in this book. Usually, I believe there are just 1 or 2.

This book is titled Rubber Sex, and includes stories about leather, latex, PVC, and rubber. The characters in the stories are male/male pairings, female/female pairings, female/female/male pairings, and female/male pairings. They go from couples to random strangers hooking up. In the bedroom or in the club, there is a very wide diversity of stories in this book. Seeing the title of the book, and the image of a woman in a rubber thong and garters, I knew I had to have this book. This is only my 4th erotic book that I have read, but it was almost impossible for me to put it down. I read it very quickly, and after each story I wanted to keep on reading. Even the story with an all male orgy, with me being a hetero man, excited and interested me. Also, there were stories of exhibition and public displays, but they didn't seem to dominate the book. The last story in the book was about a wife trying to surprise her husband with latex, and while trying it on at home, almost dies from suffocation.

The book is the same design as other books edited by Rachel Kramer Bussel, and published by Cleis Press. It has the exact same dimensions as other books by Cleis, which makes for great storage. The front and back features a picture of a woman in a black rubber thong, with garters going down her ass. Definitely not something you can read in public. The book has 174 pages worth of stories, with 6 pages being the shortest, and 14 the longest. There are a total of 19 stories.

I sat down the other day, and figured I would read the intro and one or two of the stories. I got through the intro, and enjoyed it so far. Then I read the first story, and really enjoyed it. Then I read the second story, thinking it wouldn't be as good. But it was. Then I read the third, and the fourth, and the fifth. Each time supplying a different image, each time turning me on more and more. I just kept reading, and I couldn't stop. If it wasn't for the fact that I had to wake up early and go to work, I would have finished the book in the first reading. But as is, I got through the first 12 of 19 stories. Then as soon as I was off work the next day, I finished the rest of the stories. Reading this also made me put back in my wish list some latex shorts for men. Even though my wife is slightly allergic to latex, this book turned me on so much that I want them at least for my own pleasure.

It was very difficult to pick my favorite stories from this book, but I figured I would at least list a few that really jumped out at me.

The first one is The Dress by Kristina Wright, the very first story in the book. It talks about this woman, who at work is as plain and ordinary as anyone else. But in the back of her closet she has a special dress, that just transforms her. One night she wears this dress out to a club, and bumps into someone she knows from work. She is horrified, but he doesn't recognize her. They then proceed to have a little fling out in the alley of the club.

Another was Rubber Necking by Alison Tyler. This one is about a woman who always drives by this sex shop on her way to and from work. She usually gets caught in traffic while passing, and she always stares at the displays, especially the one with the rubber outfits. One day while starring at the outfits, and the man changing them, she gets in an accident. He comes out to see if she is alright, and she believes he is just being nice. But as windows work both ways, she finds out that he has noticed her all this time staring at the lingerie, and him.

Tight Squeeze by Rachel Kramer Bussel. It is about a female domme and her boy toy submissive. One day she decides that he would look great in a catsuit, and takes him to the local shop she has visited to introduce him to the staff and get him fitted. But to her surprise, they had the exact suit in stock that she wanted. Seeing her boy come out in the suit, she couldn't resist herself. She immediately started to spank him with her hand, then with a supplied paddle from the staff. After getting her pleasure, she drove home with the top down and him in the passenger seat in his new suit. Then when they got home, they continued the fun.

The last one is Exchanges by Stella Hunter-Smith. It is about a lesbian couple, and one of the characters, Rona, hates how her partner Elise never wears anything form fitting. She first tries a subtle hint with a piece in the corner of the closet, but it gets passed over. Eventually Rona gets frustrated, and hides all of her partners clothes. Elise isn't happy, and attempts to try on a latex piece. But it is too tight and she immediately gives up. They have a fight, and Elise storms out. But she comes back later that night, with a special piece on, and they compromise.
