Sweet Heart chocolate box - sensual kit discontinued by Kama Sutra - review by g-

I bought this gift set as a present for my husband...seeing as he was the one who was going to be doing most of the licking and most loves chocolate.

The kit comes in a cute heart shaped box with tissue paper and shredded brown paper crinkles as padding, altogether a classy look. The box contained: two small jars; one of body souffle, one of chocolate sauce, a plastic baggy of chocolate dust, a small satin drawstring bag for the powder, a feather duster, and a short natural bristled brush for the chocolate sauce.

Overall together we would rate this kit as a 4 out of 5 and here is why:

Dark Chocolate Sauce:
Our favorite product, it was simple and easy to use and tasted delicious - like good, dark, Mexican chocolate; not too sweet with a slight alcohol/Kahlua scent and flavor. Please note that the sauce must be licked off completely or it will leave your skin sticky. The downside of this product is that it came in a jar, making it more of a one time use product. The jar and brush packaging is not very sanitary as you need to clean/sanitize the brush each time you apply it if you are planning to use the sauce again in the future or risk introducing bacteria into the whole jar. I think a chocolate squeeze bottle might have been a better choice as it would reduce contamination and lengthen the life of the sauce as a result. This product must be refrigerated after opening.

Chocolate Creme Brulee Body Souffle:
Gross to say the least. While this product smelled nice and had a nice texture before applying, the taste was that of a cheap lotion - plastic and greasy. There was no sweetness to this product at all. The souffle failed to absorb into my skin, leaving my skin looking orange, streaky, dirty and sticky. Not the most ideal massage product. I ended up having to shower to get the souffle and discoloration off. We threw this product away.

Chocolate Honey Dust:
We enjoyed this product immensely, it was a light, slightly sweet powder that tasted slightly of chocolate and didn't leave my skin feeling sticky. The powder is a corn starch based product, so the key is to use just a little bit, the more heavily you apply it the less great it tastes. I like to dust my whole body in the powder as it helps absorb sweat and leave your skin smelling and tasting slightly sweet. If you are looking for a product that encourages serious licking I would encourage you to try the body paint, the honey powder is more of a delightful accent than an end all be all oral treat.

Overall I am glad we purchased this kit, the packaging is quite classy and it is a great introduction to the Kama Sutra edible product range. Even though the body souffle was a miss for us the kit spared us the misfortune of buying a larger container which we would have never used. If you like chocolate and want to wow someone special I think this might be the right gift to give.
