A man's take on Dona body moisturizing lotion

Dona body lotion makes a great massage lotion and is very emollient for dry skin. A little goes a very long way so don't try anything funny like I did by trying to splatter-paint my wife's back with it!

Use

The Dona brand body lotion is definitely a product geared more towards to ladies, so I bought a bottle of the blue lotus scented Dona body lotion and added it to the basket of gifts I bought my beautiful wife for Valentine's Day this year. Last night we tried it out for the first time. As you have probably heard me say time and time again, my amazing super woman of a wife works a very demanding and stressful job. On top of working this job, she is a full time student working towards a dual major and a minor — see? Super woman! And yet she still makes time for me! So I decided last night I would break out the bottle of Dona body lotion I gave her for Valentine's Day, and give her a full body massage when she got home from school last night. I think it was just as enjoyable for me as it was for her!

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

The texture of the Dona body lotion is very creamy, very velvety, and very luxurious! I am still amazed this product feels like it should have cost double, or even triple what I paid for it! Nothing about this formula is greasy either!

It would have absorbed faster if I would not have used like six pumps of lotion on my wife's back trying to be funny and make her look splatter painted. That is one thing I must mention about this body lotion, it is very emollient so a little (like one pump) goes a very, very long way. Lesson learned! Seriously, like those 6 pumps I used easily could have done my wife's entire body two times over!

Once the lotion absorbed into her skin, it was so soft and touchable! I honestly could not stop caressing her arms and her back! It leaves the skin feeling silky, velvety smooth, and sexy!

Taste / Aroma

I knew my wife had wanted to try the Dona bath and body products so I figured I would get something in each scent so she could sample all of them and pick her favorite. I order the camu camu shower gel (also love this product and the scent) so I decided to order the lotion in blue lotus. It is an amazingly light floral fragrance with just a touch of sweetness to it in the under notes. I was worried to order it at first because my wife tends to stay away from floral scents and leans more towards sweet and fruity smells, but I ordered the blue lotus and we both enjoyed it! It is not too heavy! Just the perfect amount of fragrance to be able to smell the relaxing springy floral while the lotion is in use and for a short while afterwards. Strong florals tend to give both her and I headaches, but the blue lotus from Dona was just absolutely perfect.

I can't really think of anything it reminded me of. Again, it was just a very pleasantly light floral fragrance that did not smell chemically or perfume-y.

Performance

What she likes best about the product is the fact that a little goes a long way. My wife has very dry skin so if she can use one pump of a body moisturizing lotion and it covers her whole body comfortably its a miracle. Honestly we have had some nights where it took nearly an entire bottle of even the drug store brands that claim to be medicated (and smell no where near as amazing as the Dona lotion might I add).

The value is the next thing we love! The Dona body lotion only costs $11.99 per bottle and you are getting a fairly decent size 8.5 fluid ounce bottle. It is about the same size at a Nintendo Wii remote (sorry about the video game references, please keep in mind I'm 100% male).

The third aspect of the Dona body lotion that we absolutely love is the fact that there are no phthalates, no parabens, no petrochemicals, no Triclosan, and no sulfates. I have said time and time again in my reviews that my wife has very dry, very sensitive skin (plus she is the cutest little tree hugger I know) so she only really likes to use products containing natural ingredients and are either packaged in a recyclable or reusable bottle of which Dona has all those bases covered! Instead, it contains ingredients like Aloe and natural oils for the fragrance. There is also no artificial coloring in any of the Dona bath and body products we have tried so far!
    • Absorbs into skin nicely
    • Feels natural
    • Long lasting

Packaging

I love the fact that the bottle is a pump! It makes this product so much easier to use, especially if you decide to use more on a different part of the body and your hands are covered in lotion that hasn't yet absorbed. This makes it possible to dispense the product with one hand very easily.

The packaging is very discreet. Unless your friends shop EF, they will have no idea this lotion was purchased from a website that also sells lingerie and sex toys!

The elegant-lace printing on the label makes the product appear very stylish and looks great in gift baskets.
    • Discreet looking packaging
    • Easy to use / dispense
    • Would make a nice gift

Special Features

The product claims to be infused with aphrodisiacs. Although we did experience this with the Dona shower gel, I did not really experience any aphrodisiac effects with the lotion. Still love it though! Smells great and makes a great massage lotion!
