all purpose pampering

Long lasting may make it worth the price. The subtle smell doesn't overpower. I love anything that has multiple uses. Moisturized skin always looks and feels better. I don't often buy beauty products to pamper myself. This was a good choice.

Satin sugar all-purpose treatment balm works great for skin, hair, and nails. My cuticles look great. My frizzy hair has been tamed without that feeling of a sticky hair product.

The scent is subtly sweet. I do not smell any lemon though. It is a light enough scent to not overpower any signature scent that you usually wear.

The ingredients are stated as:
86% shea butter (this comes from a nut)
cera alba (beeswax)
parfum
phenoxyethanol (an organic chemical compound) I'm guessing preservative from my research.

Due to the beeswax this would not be a vegan product. The packaging does state thought that it was "tested on beauty junkies".

The product is definitely concentrated and can be used sparingly. It is somewhat difficult to get some out of the container, I had to use my fingernails. I then rubbed it into my palm and it melted like butter. Then I applied it to any part of my body that needed moisturizing. In the winter with the dry heat of a gas furnace, I rubbed it in just about everywhere. (except genitals) It is great rubbed into the nipples, feet, hands, and lightly in the hair.

When I use it on my feet, I then put on soft sock or booties to help it absorb. Everywhere else it seems to absorb completely. When I wash my hands though I can feel the waxiness not wanting to wash off. That is the only time it feels waxy though.

I never would of guessed I'd end up using this in my hair. I have to admit I really like it for my hair in addition to my skin. My hair is soft and has a mild sweet smell. It's such a natural smell and does not bother me. I'm not fond of fragrances. (except candles and incense, and I have one vibrator I love the smell of)
Experience
I've pampered myself nightly with this for a couple of weeks and still have plenty left for another month at least of pampering.

I haven't used any hair products in years. I don't like residue left in my hair. For the sake of the review I tried it out. I love it! I have naturally curly hair. I've started using it in my hair every few days. My curls are more defined and healthy looking. I thought it might make my hair look or feel greasy. It does not. My hair feels so soft now.
Follow-up commentary
I ended up using this everyday, every last bit of it until it was gone. Unfortunately it looks like eden has discontinued it. I look forward to trying other Cake products from Eden though.

I liked this as a foot balm and for my hair to combat frizzies.

Thanks for the review! I only just saw this is listed as discontinued Shame!

The almost waxy feeling when you wash your hands is good to hear, because that means it is forming a protective barrier against water and how drying it can be! like to hear that, only wish this was still available

Your review has a good foundation but I have a couple issues with it. The Cake site does not say this is discontinued and if it does on EF, it's likely because they just started carrying it and it's actually not fully listed yet.

You don't really talk about the texture of this enough. I imagine it's similar to Parlmer's Cocoa Butter so it's a firmer, wax (which also leaves your hands feeling waxy). Does it leave a similar feeling on your hair? Does it seem stubborn to shampoo out?

The package looks really small in the product images and I'm not so great with weights/sizes. A comparison to a similar product, estimation of how many uses you'll get or something similar would have been great.

    Adriana Ravenlust,

EF does distinguish between a discontinued product as opposed to something that is not yet available for purchase. I have done reviews on products that were not available for purchase. The product page stated so and they did not list a price. In this case the price is listed on the product page along with the statement "this product has been discontinued".

I am not familiar with Parlmer's Cocoa butter so I am unable to compare the two products. This balm does have a firm wax texture until you warm it in your hands. It does not feel waxy on my skin or hair once it is absorbed.

When washing my hair, it does not feel waxy at all, nor does it feel as though I have a product buildup as many hair products do. I am a stickler about this.

The container is round, holding 2 ounces of the balm. It is approximately 3 1/2 inches in diameter. The container reminds me of the old fashioned powder puff containers. It is one inch high.

The amount of uses would depend on how much and how often you use it. It is concentrated, so in my case "I've pampered myself nightly with this for a couple of weeks and still have plenty left for another month at least of pampering. "

It is still available on the manufacturer's website.

    tigerkate,
great point about the protective barrier. Many people don't realize the irony that water dehydrates skin.
