Climax clean anti bacterial toy cleaner - toy cleanser by Topco Sales - review by Sanjay

Climax Clean is a scented anti-bacterial toy cleaner which comes in a very attractive spray bottle. To give you some perspective, I would say it is perhaps slightly larger than a baseball and contains 8.5 fluid ounces of cleaner inside. The bottle itself is smooth and stylish in appearance and definitely gives off a vibe of purity and cleanliness. It reminds me of a big glistening bubble ready to "wipe the slate clean" so to speak!

I do really appreciate how inconspicuous the bottle is as it really just looks like any ordinary cleaning or hair product (or perhaps just water in a spray bottle to discipline your cats!) However, the name "Climax Clean" is printed on the side in sizable letters which might not be so discreet, and in TINY letters below it reads "scented antibacterial toy cleaner" along with how much liquid is in the container. It is a bit of a shame though because otherwise it is a cute little elegant bottle which could in reality be used for any purpose once empty.

After inspecting the bottle, I decided to unscrew the nozzle and give it a smell. Supposedly the scent is "fresh linen", but that is an abstract description at best as "fresh linen" means something different for every smelly product I've ever purchased! The best way I could describe the scent is just a pleasantly sweet soapy sort of smell. It certainly isn't bad, but I wouldn't call it linens... I would call it clean soap!

According to the tag, you need to unplug your toy if it is electrical before using the cleaner. Along those same lines, you should remove any batteries it may have and replace the battery cover before using. I decided to try cleaning two different toys for my experiment: My Eroscillator tips (made of plastic) and the Regal Prickly (made of jelly). I went to spray the Eroscillator tips first, and the trigger felt like it was stuck! I saw this little piece of plastic under the nozzle that flipped around it seemed, but it was clearly obstructing the trigger no matter which way I turned it. Finally, silly me, I realized that I could simply pull this little piece of plastic off and it was probably just there to make sure fluid didn't leak out of it in shipment/travel. D'oh! Boy did I feel stupid!

Moving on, I sprayed the Eroscillator tips, waited 30 seconds, and then wiped them clean with a paper towel. The smell was pretty noticeable, but not unpleasant. Then came the jelly toy, Regal Prickly, which I thought would be more of a challenge (have you put paper towels around jelly toys before and noticed the lint everywhere?) Much to my surprise, that wasn't an issue at all! I rinsed both toys off as instructed and noticed that most of the smell had actually vanished and simply smelled... clean. I was admittedly worried about that as the idea of perfume all over my toys wasn't terribly appealing to me, but I'm pretty pleased at the results.

Before I end this review, I would also like to mention that this product DOES have an expiration date, although mine doesn't expire for another 3 years.... so perhaps stocking up TOO much isn't a good idea. Besides, it seems to go a long way! I will definitely be using this product in the future to disinfect my toys.
